Anything Goes - Weeks #673-674

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday!  We're always so grateful to have you join us for our challenges.  We enjoy your art so much; and even if we don't get to your blog every week to leave a comment, please know that we appreciate you very much.  This wouldn't be a challenge blog without YOU.  Please know that you matter to us, and more importantly, you matter to God.  Thank you for sharing your God-given talents with us.  We praise God for you, and I really do pray for you.  Oh, and here's some more good news.....our Sponsor Calendar for 2025 is full.  As long as God continues to guide, to bless and to provide, this challenge blog will continue.  PRAISE GOD!  And now, let's jump right into this awesome challenge.

Our Bible verse of focus for this challenge is Micah 7:8 and it says, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me".  Let me tell you a story relating to this verse.  I have an extended family member, a nephew, who is like a son to me.  If you remember back about ten years ago, I shared with you all the story of my dear friend and sister-in-law who died of brain cancer.  For some strange reason, she once said to me that one of her (four) children was "my other son".  I never quite knew why she said that.  Well, that nephew (now 19) not only lost his dear Mama at the age of 9, but he was also discarded by his father.  To this day, his own father has cast him away, turned his back on him, and wishes the worst for him.  It's tragic.  However, God got ahold of this young man and changed his life; making him a "new creature".  So, when I read these words, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me".....it really hit home.  You see, even when our "enemies" (those who wish us the worst and oppose us) desire for us to fail and be miserable, PRAISE GOD, He tells us that He will be our light when we sit in darkness.  My nephew doesn't have to sit in darkness.  He doesn't have to be sad or live a bitter and miserable life.  Neither do you, and neither do I.  When we choose to give our life to the Lord, He promises to always be that light in the darkness.  God, unlike the world and its people, will NEVER leave us or forsake us, and He will bless us, show us a better way, and even "be a father to the fatherless".  My sweet nephew has been through a lot in his young life.  Many of you have gone through a lot as well.  But PRAISE GOD that He will always be there to pick up our broken pieces and make something beautiful out of it all.  He wants to be the light in your darkest days, and it's our sincere hope and prayer that you will call on Him and allow Him to be that light for you.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - #671-672

Welcome to Word Art Wednesday.  We're so glad you're here to join us for another fun-filled challenge.  We have a brief devotional to encourage you spiritually in the Lord Jesus this week.  We also have an awesome prize from our wonderful sponsor, Uniko.  We're so blessed to have the amazing sponsors we do.  God has blessed this challenge blog in so many ways.  The biggest part of this whole challenge is YOU.  Each of you who shares your art in our challenges are the ones who make all this possible.  We think of you all as "winners".  Thank you for playing along with us and for sharing your God-given talents with us.  We sure do appreciate you.

The scripture we're looking at is Psalm 113:3 and it says, "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised".  This is very straight forward and literal.   This verse is telling us that ALL DAY LONG - from the time the sun rises until the time it sets again, God's name is to be praised all the time.  There's no time that isn't a good time to PRAISE GOD!  We should just keep praising Him all day every day.  Truth be told, we see God do amazing things all day long as He watches over us, speaks to us, guides and protects us, and shows us the way.  The more that we continue to praise God's name throughout the day, the more He is given even a hint of the praise He deserves for all He has done for us.  I try my best to just keep praising Him all day long for the mercies I see around me during my day.  I make so many mistakes.  Praise God that He's always there for me.  He shows me a better path, gives me wiser options, and speaks to my heart when I'm open to hear and apt to learn.  Praise God for how He speaks to His children.  Remember ti praise the name of the LORD every day - all day.  Not only is He worthy of all praise, but it will also make you feel good as you find yourself giving God the praise He deserves and bringing honor to His precious name.

Anything Goes - Weeks #669-670

Welcome back by, friends.  We're so super glad you're here to join us for another FUN challenge.  God has been BLESSING once again, and our Sponsor Calendar for 2025 is FULL.  PRAISE GOD!  We love and appreciate having you play along in our challenges, and it's our greatest hope that our challenges are a blessing and encouragement to you.  Please know that we care about you, about your spiritual condition, and we're here to encourage you if you need us.  We also love seeing your amazing art each week.  Thanks for being here.

The scripture used for our word art during this challenge is 1 Timothy 5:17 and it says, "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine".  This verse is speaking about elders or pastors - those who are serving and preaching in the church.  The verse tells these people to be counted worthy of double honor.  It's a reminder to them that, because they are in a position of leadership and teaching, they need to be found "worthy" of the calling and position.  Each pastor, or elder, in the church who is supported by their church needs to be sure that they are never becoming lazy or complacent.  In the same fashion, God expect each of us to be found "worthy" of our calling.  We all have a responsibility to serve God, to teach others with the knowledge we have (especially Biblical knowledge), and to always remember that others are watching us.  Our behaviors, good or bad, will affect others.  We will either be a blessing or a hinderance to others; especially those who are less spiritually mature.  Let this be a reminder to each of us to always seek wisdom and to truly care about being worthy of what God has given us.  No matter what your level of spiritual/Biblical maturity is, always be sure to use it for God's glory and to be a blessing in the lives of those we encounter.
