We are dedicated to finding, preserving and promoting the works of Tony Hancock, one of the most popular and influential comedians of the late twentieth century. His 1950s radio and television sitcom, Hancock’s Half Hour, is still regarded as unsurpassed in the field of light entertainment.
The Society houses the world’s largest collection of audio and visual material concerning Tony. We have recordings of all the performances he made on radio, television, stage and film that are currently known to have survived. Much has been lost, however, and we are constantly searching for such material, particularly missing episodes of Hancock’s Half Hour.Missing Episodes If anyone visiting this site believes they can help with this search, or have other rare material concerning Tony, please let us know by getting in touch with the THAS Archivist or THAS Social Media.
We also have extensive archives containing scripts, photographs, press cuttings, magazine articles, Film Fun comic strips, production stills from The Rebel and The Punch and Judy Man and other material related to his life and career.
