Service Performance in Georgia
When the new Palmetto Regional Processing & Distribution Center (30268) opened in in Atlanta in February, on-time service performance in Georgia plummeted. In a Senate hearing on April 16, Postmaster General DeJoy said it would take about 60 days for scores to return to normal. Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff told DeJoy that if the problem wasn't fixed in weeks, not months, "I don’t think you’re fit for this job." This chart shows the scores for First Class mail with a 2-day service standard (outbound). The chart is updated every Wednesday, when the USPS posts updates on its Service Performance Dashboard. There's more about the opening of the Atlanta RPDC here and more about the latest performance results here and here.
