It has a decent cast and it's about werewolves, which I love. But oh dear what a shambles this was, what the hell has happened to Tom Jane? His acting in this was poor and don't get me started on Jay Mohr he was horrible, we saw the Werewolf once and it looked plastic I mean wtf!!!
When will somone make a good scary Werewolf film, please.... Anyone?
Reading the reviews you would think this was the worst movie ever made but believe me there are a heck of a lot worse. Was it An American Werewolf in London? No. Is it worth a watch? Yes, if you're stuck on what to watch and come across this.

If you're looking for the next great werewolf flick, trust me, this isn't it, awful acting from usually reliable actors(they MUST have been in it for the paycheck only) terrible plot, & don't even get me started on the ridiculous werewolf costume, seriously folks, give this one a wide birth.
When I saw a clip of this movie I thought it looked decent enough. It gave the impression of a group of people holed up in a house under attack by werewolves. Unfortunately that's not what it is! What we have here is some very low budget, woefully acted, poorly written mess of a movie. Avoid. If you want a movie like that which I originally thought this was then instead check out Dog Soldiers to see it done properly.

This film has the begining of an idea that someone has decided with very limited direction and or terrible editing along with what seems like terribly improvised script to make into a below mediocre film for eg "I trusted you !" Said to a character who they've only met once in a gas station while they were stealing a candy bar .awful predictable tripe save yourself the disapointment and go to bed early

What a rubbish piece of shi#t film!!! The actual story makes No Sense & everyone acts ridiculously stupid especially the annoying blonde hoe big sister, i hated her character & the other two sisters did nothing in the film at all!!! A weird family move to a small redneck town where a werewolf is supposed to be hunting around a big orchard behind the house where the weirdo family have moved into. The acting is terrible & the usually Awesome THOMAS JANE is completely wasted as a boring corrupt Sheriff!!! A completely wasted werewolf movie & a waste of a good actor. A terrible, terrible B-movie & one of the worst I've seen in a long time

If I could rate this movie a 0 I totally would. I've never been so disappointed in a movie as much as I was with this one. I wish I could get my money back for horrible movies like these. Some of the worst actors were in this movie, the whole storyline was dreadful. There should've never been a reason to want to film this movie, who would come up with this stuff? I'm so disgusted, this was so awful. Disgusting, disturbing, don't spend your money or your time. This movie shouldn't be out to the public, all its going to do is disappoint you.

The Delaney family moves into a farmhouse with an orchard which is the site of a recent murder. The parents leave for an unspecified trip leaving their adult daughter Juliet (Katrina Bowden) in charge of the two younger teenage daughters. The girls are harassed by three creepy thugs before the arrival of a creepy Sheriff.
It's a B-horror which could have been good. The family needs to play the start much more innocently. There is far too many foreshadowing. When the turn happens, non of it is surprising. That's its one big shot and the movie missed it. There is also an issue about the monster. It's not the look but that could better. It should somehow connect it with the family so it should eliminate the start. It needs better writing. This script is not good but it could have been.

It's far from good. But i don't regret watching it.
Never had a clue as to who the werewolf is/was.
There are far worse movies with higher ratings out there.

But executed horribly, unfortunately. We will watch any horror movie B or less, especially werewolf movies. So this could have been pretty good if the acting and writing were better. We like Thomas Jane but he acted like a weird hick and there really was no reason why he had to make the character like that. Good twist, but they kind of set it up too early so you figure it out. You also don't really like anyone in it.

Who in the name of Kylies Hotpants thought this was a film, really!!!, i mean really!!, if i tipped a tin of Alpabetti Spagetti in front of a dyslexic i'd get more sense. I try to look for a glimmer of hope in every film I watch but this was the equivalent of getting an arrow through the neck and finding an electric bill hanging from it. Gargage.

Well, they tried.
Yeh, that pretty much sums it up.
When I sat down to watch the 2020 horror movie "Hunter's Moon", it was because of two things. First, this movie had Thomas Jane on the cast list, and second, it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen. Sure, I had never even heard about this movie from writer and director Michael Caissie, but I am a sucker for werewolf movies. So of course I opted to sit down and watch it, as I stumbled upon it here in 2022.
The storyline, as written by Michael Caissie, did have some good aspects to it. But overall, then "Hunter's Moon" was not a particularly great or outstanding foray into the werewolf movie sub-genre. Yeah, it was watchable, but it was somewhat bland and generic.
The special effects in "Hunter's Moon" were limited. And the one and only time you get to actually see a werewolf up close and in detail, you just curl up your toes, because it looks atrociously bad. It was so obviously a suit and a mask with no articulation, much less anything that even resembled life in the details.
The acting performances in the movie were fairly wooden and rigid. Sure, it was fun to watch Thomas Jane and Sean Patrick Flanery in the movie, but neither of them had leading roles.
If you enjoy werewolf movies, then perhaps give "Hunter's Moon" a chance. But don't go expecting much of anything.
My rating of "Hunter's Moon" lands on a three out of ten stars.

I could've watched paint dry, snow melt in the spring, or sandpapered my eyes, literally anything else would've made more sense.
Did a director suggest "we need an actor who's known, but not high priced? Someone we can get to act like an uneducated dimwitted sheriff?"
And someone thought of Thomas Jane? What's even more shocking is that he agreed to do this. It's awful, and I mean that in the most literal terms There's no character building, no plot to follow, nothing at all.
Part of the story involves a very in-depth plot that was somehow arranged by strangers in less than a few minutes. And it sets the tone and pace for the entire movie. A tone that just continues to disappoint scene after scene. In fact, I don't think any part of the transitions between them added up to a plot.
But, like a toothache, you just poke at it with your tongue, I stayed on until the end. Hoping beyond hope that at least one of the people claiming to be actors and actresses would pull a hail Mary and prove themselves as masters of their craft, but nope.
There is a part you'll enjoy though. Most would've left the theatre before this, but the credit? They were a welcome sight.

This movie is absolute garbage, completely unwatchable, the acting is atrocious, dialogue/script ridiculous and the execution just fails beyond belief ... why this even got made i do not know. Its cringe how bad the whole storyline is!! Just nothing at all redeemable about this pile of crap. Do not watch do not watch do not watch do not watch and have i mentioned DO NOT WATCH the monster in his $20 halloween costume is laughable and the "twist" is well its SO funny it is the one minute of movie that truly makes it a comedy. There is nothing else to say about this except do not watch save your time find something else.

"The Orchard" or "Hunters Moon" or whatever this film is actually called, does not bear fruit. Well lets just say nothing overly palatable, anyway.
Aside from the inexplicable presence of Thomas Jane who i have a lot of time for, there is little to hang your hat on. The story is thin and characterisations, a little clumsy. It also takes far too long to get off the ground, in what is essentially a B grade horror flick.
Interesting twist in the end but in most respects, this is very ordinary fare.
5/10.

Worst movie I have ever seen. The story makes no sense, looks like a 2 years old made story. Very bad, shocking.

Look - American Werewolf in London this isn't. But then, I didn't expect it to be. What it IS, however, is a decent enough stab at a werewolf flick. Sure, there were a few of the standard tropes, but if you just sit back with a metaphorical box of popcorn, you won't have a terrible time. Just don't go in expecting this multi-million, CGI'd to death show. It's not that, not trying to BE that. So why compare it, knowing already that you'll be disappointed.

So, the reviews are all over the place on this one but mainly running down the lower end of the middle. I don't even think this garbage deserves that. Let me put it this way, I'm only 18 mins into this movie and I'm writing this review cause I've made my mind up that it's not gonna get better from here and well sadly, it can't go any lower.
It's a real shame too cause I like Thomas Jane, in fact he's what drew me to the movie in the first place. However, when you have a 33 year old woman playing what I'm guessing is supposed to be a 17-18 year old oldest of 3 sisters, and by the way, she looks every day of 33 and maybe even then some. If anything, she looks like the mom's younger sister, not first born daughter. So yeah, 33 year old woman playing 17-18 character who is CONSTANTLY whining about wanting to be treated like an adult... lady you are and look 33!
Next, the terrible acting dad, he wears glasses with NO LENSES IN THEM! And he's weird! And him and the 33 year old daughter I mean eldest daughter act and communicate weird with each other.
Movie could've been something half way descent but between terrible casting, acting, and lackluster projection, well skip this one and don't get robbed if ten rental money like I did.
Now to figure out who to talk to about getting my money back...

It is unbelievable that they can make movie this bad. Don't understand what Thomas Jane thought when singing with this absolute trash.
Extremely low quality on production andit show on every scene.

The movie has serious lighting issues, where you can barely see what is happening or the characters in this film. Majority of the film is way too dark to see.
