Tom Cruise is considered the biggest action star working right now, and for good reason. He is in his 60s, he is still running as fast as some of the most brilliant athletes out there and performing the wildest vehicular stunts imaginable. And it doesn’t seem like he is in the mood to vacate that throne yet. But that doesn’t mean actors from all over the globe aren’t trying to live up to the standards he has set, especially in terms of doing their own stunts. Raymond Lam Fung knocked it out of the park in Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In. Dev Patel was excellent in Monkey Man. Emilio Sakraya took everyone’s breath away in Sixty Minutes. Jun Jong-seo surprised everyone in Ballerina. The work done by Alban Lenoir in the two Lost Bullet films are inspirational. Joe Taslim, Iko Uwais, Cecep Arif Rahman, Julie Estelle,...

Our trio gets on their way to England, but trouble awaits them on the mainland. Here’s our Video Nasty episode 2 review.
When I was roughly 16 years of age, my mum caught me watching I Spit On Your Grave in the living room. She walked past the TV where a guy was getting his testicles chopped off and looked at me, cautiously asking, “Are you okay? Do I need to make an appointment with someone?” I just smiled and said no.
This memory played on my mind while watching episode two of BBC’s Video Nasty. Not only do Billy and Con chat about their favourite gory kills in these banned masterpieces with undeniable glee, but a video store owner tells their worried parents, who are shocked at what kind of entertainment their children are into, “They’re not what they watch.”
This is true: I’m now 33 and haven...

Add Jimmy Fallon to the list of late-night hosts surprised by the vice presidential debate between Jd Vance and Tim Walz. The NBC host opened his show on Wednesday night by declaring the face-off the “craziest debate yet.”
“They actually talked about policy,” Fallon said. “This debate turned out to be polite, friendly and intimate. It was jarring. Basically people were expecting a horror movie and they got a Hallmark movie.”
Later in the show, Fallon showed an edited clip of Walz agreeing with Vance and the two men staring at each other for an uncomfortable amount of time. “They agreed on so much they actually ran out of things to debate about.”
Fallon went on to state that most people thought Vance gave a “solid” debate performance.
“Republicans saw that and were like, ‘Hey, can we just pull a Biden and go with this guy?'” Fallon said before...

Exclusive: Netflix’s urban fantasy drama The Grimm Reality will not see the light of day. We’ve learned that the series from Dark producer Wiedemann & Berg and The Gryphon co-producer Dog Haus Films has been quietly shelved.
The Grimm Reality first went into development at Netflix’s German base and then into production in late 2022. We understand filming had completed, but it will not move further forwards at Netflix.
Plot details on the show were not revealed, but it was assumed to be based on the Brothers Grimm folklore tales of the 18th and 19th centuries. The series was billed a “fairy tale urban fantasy thriller,” according to What’s on Netflix, which initially broke the news of the show.
Show creators were Till Kleinert (Der Samurai) and Dog Haus’ Erol Yesilkaya, who is a producer and scriptwriter. Actors including Hyuan Wanner, Patrick Isermeyer, Eidin Jalali and Dennis Schuermann were cast.

Prime Video has debuted the trailer for the historical drama series ‘Those About To Die.’
Panem et Circenses – Bread and Entertainment; Rome in 79 A.D.: The centre of the Roman Empire is the wealthiest city in the world, and there is a heavy influx of slave labourers from the growing empire to take over the work. The Roman population—bored, restless, and increasingly violent—is kept in line mainly by two things: free food and spectacular entertainment, in the form of chariot racing and gladiator fights.
The series delves into the world of the games—a world characterized by bloodlust, greed for money, the pursuit of power, and corruption. The races at Circus Maximus are controlled by four Patrician-owned corporations, the Blue, Red, White, and Green factions, and shares in the four factions are the most valuable things in Rome. As the taste in entertainment of the populace becomes more jaded and bloodthirsty,...

Sixty Minutes is a violent mirror to Scorsese's After Hours as Octa rushes through Berlin facing dangerous obstacles. Octa had a bigger purpose than Paul in After Hours, as he fought to get to his daughter's birthday party. Octa's journey was motivated by his love for his daughter and a threat from his ex, while Paul's aim was simply to get home.
Despite being from different genres and with different stories, Netflix’s latest action movie, Sixty Minutes, is a dark mirror to an underrated Martin Scorsese black comedy. Netflix’s catalog of international and action movies is in constant expansion, and among its latest additions is the German film Sixty Minutes, directed by Oliver Kienle. Octa's big fight was rigged by the Serbian mob, causing him to drop out to see his daughter. Octa sets up a plan to get rid of both Chino and the Serbian mob, leading to a shootout with the police involved. It is unclear if the police caught Danica and her henchmen, leaving the possibility of Octa's problems with the mob unresolved.
Netflix’s Sixty Minutes sees Octa (Emilio Sakraya) rushing across Berlin to see his daughter, but he comes across various enemies along the way, including the Serbian mob. Netflix’s catalog of international movies and action films continues to expand, and among the latest additions to both is the German film Sixty Minutes, directed by Oliver Kienle. The Fast and Furious franchise talks a big game about family but doesn’t seem to care about much besides the action sequences. They just get too chaotic for my taste, but the new film Sixty Minutes is more ordered in its approach to having a frenetic action film that has a genuine familial core. There are a few issues as to how it uses a father-daughter relationship, but ultimately it is a well-crafted action thriller that might feel like Run Lola Run meets Falling Down sans the insane Michael Douglas and the time travel stuff.

The idea is quite simple, and its simplicity doesn’t bother me at first glance. The title Sixty Minutes reminds me of movies like 88 Minutes, but the plot of this movie is not based on any bomb that has to be defused or a criminal has to be caught. The story of Sixty Minutes revolves around the life of an Mma fighter who has to decide whether to participate in his next fight or travel a fair distance and meet his daughter before 6 pm, which, if you are good at decoding movie titles, means that he has to make this choice at 5 pm.
The stakes of this movie are interesting and a little bit silly at the same time. If our Mma fighter doesn’t reach his daughter in time, then he might lose custody of her. Before you ask, there isn’t a court case going on; it’s just her birthday,...

It’s a quiet month on Netflix in January, but the streamer still has some good stuff lined up for the new year, including an interesting documentary about the Centra Tech cryptocurrency scam. Bitconned arrives on the first of the month alongside Netflix’s latest Harlan Coben adaptation, Fool Me Once, which sees an ex-soldier called Maya witness her husband’s murder on a nanny cam. The crime then leads her down a deadly path where she uncovers a deadly conspiracy.

"This is bigger than you think." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a German race-against-the-clock thriller called Sixty Minutes (oder 60 Minuten auf Deutsch), arriving in January for streaming on Netflix. 60 Minutes is an action-packed race against time. Leading actor and multi-talent Emilio Sakraya lets his fists fly as mixed martial arts fighter Octavio. Mma fighter Octavio has one hour to make it to his daughter's birthday party across Berlin or he'll lose custody forever. To reach her in time he turns down an important fight, which puts him in a dangerous position with some even more dangerous people. Of course. Suddenly Octavio isn't only trapped in a ruthless race against time but also a chase through the entire city that pushes him to his limits. Also starring Dennis Mojen, Marie Mouroum, Paul Wollin, Aristo Luis, Morik Heydo, and Florian Schmidtke. This reminds me a lot of the Berlin classic Run Lola Run,...
