Meanwhile, new intern Leela, both struggles and shines throughout her first day, causing Devon and Conrad to wonder if something bigger is going on.

Conrad and Feldman treat newlywed Megan, presumed dying of Huntington's disease, but Conrad realizes that she is actually suffering from Wilson's disease. On Nic's first day back, Jay, who had stabbed her, in brought into the hospital with a tear in his heart; after a conversation with Billie about trauma, Nic must move past the incident. New intern Leela Devi angers Devon and AJ by inconsistent behavior, but helps to save Jay's life in the OR and Devon realizes that she suffers from dyslexia and promises support. Princess Nadine returns to Atlanta with a surprise for Devon: her baby, presumably Devon's son. Cain returns to Chastain for physical therapy, but snaps frustrated at Devon's sickle cell patient Rose; after Kit expresses doubts Cain's future at Chastain, he breaks down. Mina faces an investigation for her illegal clinic and dating Micah and AJ, who finally confronts Cain and threatens him into dropping the investigation, but Cain's attorney replies it's too late to call it off. To save the neurosurgery department, Kit reinstates Billie's residency on a trial basis.—KGF Vissers
