While reading Burke's Peerage, Sir Walter says that his marriage took place July 15 1784, and that his daughter Elizabeth was born 1 June 1784. A daughter born out of wedlock would never have been included in Burke's Peerage - he must have made an error reading the date of marriage, or she was born a year later.
