Can this please be available on DVD

Seeing this as a child I understood what this filmed play by Julien Green was all about, and for me it was a validation of my own orientation. Complex though the film is it boils down to the unrequited love of a young Polish officer Ian Wicziewsky's love for another young man Eric Mac Clure, and Peter Wyngarde's performance as the officer is superb. Homosexuality is not named but the impact of it is the stronger as it so obvious and painfully so, and the ending of this love is tragic and yet noble. I have seen it since but although the BFI shows it on their BFI player it has not been made commercially available, and it should be. It is a milestone in homosexual presentation on a British screen, and yet so few people seem to have seen it. The plot is set just before the Civil War in the South, and the ending of one tragedy of love is a prelude to the loss of innumerable loves and lives. Once seen this filmed drama is unforgettable.
