The Heart That Wouldn't Stay Buried

There, I said it, and I still don't understand why the Sixth Sense gets even less respect than the Night Gallery ever did. It's a very rare occurrence when this show comes on(thanks, Me-TV), but lately, you may think it's an episode of Night Gallery, as they have Rod Serling and a painting to follow, but follow your channel guide to make sure. Regarding this episode, which was probably edited severely, also had some star power(Leif Erickson, Jessica Walter). Dr. Rhodes(Gary Collins)is summoned to speak to Dr. Ford(Erickson), who believes he's dying because of terrible hallucinations, and he blames this on Jordana Theland(Walter), who he thinks caused his son's death, as he was also plagued by these strange dreams as well. It turns out that he pretended his son was dead(although he dies later anyway)to get the ball rolling, so to speak, to cast doubts on Jordana, who seems to have psychic powers like Dr. Rhodes. One of those weird hallucinations has a giant bird statue come to life, which was pretty cool for 1972, although a cheesy giant spider and web even that out. I won't say why or how, but David Ford(Michael Murphy), Dr. Ford's other son, plays a major part of this story. I would say this episode was decent enough, and probably would make more sense if it wasn't edited, but the story and acting was fairly solid, considering this show doesn't get much respect.
