And when I say this I don't mean that it's terrible, as there is some good music and a great sense of fear generated by the Reign of Terror, as well as some very detailed and handsome animation(especially the background art) and the villains, Evremonde and Madame De Farge are thoroughly nasty pieces of work that you wouldn't want to mess with. However, the voice acting I didn't find very convincing, mainly because of the atrocious accents. The writing also lacks that sense of thought and intensity in the prose and comes across as stilted instead, while the protagonist characters are rather bland, I did find that the villains here were much more interesting. Naturally the story is condensed, however everything feels rushed and the whole story here feels more like highlights rather than a coherent piece of storytelling. Some of the animation for the protagonists(though the animation quality is very good) looks awkward also. All in all, a disappointing Tale of Two Cities, but not so bad that you lose the will to live. 4/10 Bethany Cox
