- TriviaVarious references to The Andy Griffith Show (1960) were included. -When Les Calhoun tells Andy he's getting married, Ben suggests they do a duet. Ben says he bets it'll make her cry. That's a nod to Charlene Darling's repeated line "That one makes me cry!" -Ben and Les exchange fist hits to the shoulder like in the opening to Citizen's Arrest (1963). -Les has some "big news. Big news. You'll never guess what it is." This references The Manhunt (1960).

Ben Matlock: Diana is not the kind of woman that kills men; she just makes them wish they were dead.
Conrad McMasters: Right. And she could do the same thing to you.
Featured review
The lawyer's cousin ( a disagreeable lady with a horrid temper) ask for his help after her husband leaves her for another woman, who happens to be a artist and cute. She threatens to shoot him, pours coffee over his head and screams at him ( and she's wondering why he left her!!). There's some good humour surrounding this, but of course mystery is around a photograph with the husband in the photo with his girlfriend. But he claims that's not him in the photo, and asks Matlock to investigate- a steadily-paced and entertaining part one ends with a murder.
