The rabbits and the hound dogs live next to each other, separated by a fence. Signs order the other species to keep on their own territory lest they incur the feudin' fussin' and a-fighting that goes along with every screen version of the Hatfield-McCoy story, including Oswald and the puppy neighbor falling in love. Yup, it's an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Cartoon in them thar hills.
Naturally they start fighting with each other, and about 90% of the gags involve firearms, bullet holes, and so forth, with one or two involving fragmentation bombs for some humorous variety. It's interesting most;y as a catalogue of the various cartoon gags you can pull off, and for the last shot, which is peculiarly poignant for a cartoon.
