Sor Cecilia is a fine and honest nun who attempts to help all kinds of people while his convent goes to bankrupt. She wants to avoid the ruin of the convent and the Superior Nun : Luisa Sala assigns her to sell some ancient Codices, religious scrolls and codes. At the shop Cecilia meets a false frair : José Sazatornil who tries to deceive her by taking the valuable Codice. Later on, she meets a group of thieves formed by the following ones : José Saza, Victor Alcazar, Tomas Zori, Pedro Valentin and Tina Sainz. The motley and botcher bunch of stealers try to rob at a pharmacy, and after that, they carry out a robbing at a petrol station, but things go wrong thanks to the cunning nun Lina Morgan.
Entertaining but mediocre comedy with usual ingredients : hilarious incidents, mayhem, confusion, amusement and brief drops od sentimentality . It is an acceptable and passable comedy with funny scenes here and there, including some sentimental scenes on the relationship between Lina Morgan and Jose Saza as a separated husband, as she desires to reunite him with his wife. This "Una monja y un Juan" was made back to back with "La llamaban la madrina", both of them share similar actors, director and plot, as a woman played by Lina attempts a band of crooks don't execute crimes and swindles . Stars the always sympathetc and agreeable Lina Morgan. His starts were as a dancer in the Revista company run by Matias Colsada. She, subsequently became a great comedy vedette along with Juanito Navarro. His film debut was in 1961 with Vampiresas 1930 by Jesus Franco, following El pobre Garcia, Objetivo las estrellas , Una tal Dulcinea, and La Cesta. Along with Lina Morgan here shows up a lot of familiar faces from Spanish cinema, such as Tina Sainz, Alfonso del Real, Emilio Laguna, Tomas Zori, Africa Pratt, Erasmo Parcual, Pedro Valentin, Luisa Sala, and sevrral others. The motion picture eas regularly directed by by prolific filmmaker Mariano Ozores. He was an expert on Spanish comedies making a lot of hilarious fillms that had success enough and directing the most popular comical actord as Alfredo Landa, Fernando Esteso, José Sacristan, Gracita Morales and Lina Morgan.
