Watching that movie reminded me of my time back in the 1970s in Mexico, both culturally similar and with poverty as a common denominator. The only difference was the time.
I have seen many Filipino movies with my wife, and only watch them just to pass the time.
But to my surprise, I found in this film a well-written screenplay and well-played actors, with a compelling story that unveils the harsh reality of living in poverty, in a mixture that involves romance with the drama in a well-balanced manner.
The only thing that stopped me from rating with 10 but with 9 instead was the bad photography editing that sometimes takes away that needed environment in a story.
