Nicola is a public relations professional and writer with more than 17 years of experience in communications, marketing and publicity. As the Director of Pender PR, Nicola has helped launch television series, led publicity campaigns for theatrical releases of feature films and has worked as a publicist for companies, brands and talent. Her experience includes entertainment, philanthropic and event-based public relations and marketing. Nicola spent a decade at Thunderbird Entertainment, one of Canada's leading production companies, where she was the Director of Communications, ran corporate PR reporting directly to the board and oversaw unit publicity and marketing all properties. Working across divisions in production, development and distribution helped tailor the unique skill set and experience that she brings to her clients at Pender PR.
Nicola has worked on numerous film and television properties including Kim's Convenience, Blade Runner: 2049, High Rise, Disorder, Never Steady, Never Still, Second Mother, Highway Thru Hell and Netflix Original series' including Some Assembly Required, Beat Bugs and The Last Kids On Earth.
She has worked as a PR liaison with studios including Netflix, ABC, CBC, Hulu, Bell, Corus, Rogers and more. Over the years Nicola has placed stories in numerous outlets including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, LA Times, The New York Times, Deadline Hollywood, Atlantic, Rolling Stone, USA Today, Forbes and interviews on CBC q, ET, BBC, etalk, The Social and other outlets around the globe. Nicola prides herself on the great relationships she has fostered across many industries and hopes to continue promoting projects and people she believes in at Pender PR.
