The amazing and versatile Diana Franco was born in Cali, Colombia. In
1982, her family immigrated to The United States and moved to New York
City, where she lived and study for seven years. At a very young age
Diana already knew she wanted to be an actress and after finishing high
school she felt more than ready to pursue her ambition. After a
nation-wide televised competition, in 1988, Diana was crowned Miss
Colombia USA. This was just the beginning of a very successful career
in front of the lens.
Franco became a commercial and editorial model. Her face appeared on covers such Cosmopolitan en Espanol. In 1992 Diana was approached to participate in the Spanish version of Star Searsh, where - once again - she won first place. Later that same year, Cover Girl Make-Up chose her to be one of the faces for their first TV campaigns for the Hispanic market. After traveling and working around the world, including places such as Taipei, Istanbul and Hong Kong, Diana decided to stay in USA to pursue her acting career in her native language. Franco chose this time Miami, as her hometown.
Her ability to do comedy was soon discovered, and was hired to be part of the regular cast of Salvese Quien Pueda, a weekly comedy show that aired in Telemndo Network. In 1995 Univision Network hires Diana as the female VJ for Caliente, one of its most seen weekend TV shows. Caliente gave Diana the opportunity to interact with all the young audience she had been entertaining for the past years. Two years later, Diana is asked to be part of Edicion Especial (Telemundo Network) a hugely successful entertainment show which earned her the anchor star status in the Spanish market. She was also in charge of hosting most of Telemundo's specials for the network. In 1999 People en Espanol places Diana as one of the 25 most beautiful people along with faces such as Salma Hayek and Ricky Martin. Even though, going live - everyday - in Edicion Especial, Diana found time to keep acting. She soon landed the role of Sylvia La Rosen in Safe Harbor (Aroon Spellig) that later aired in WB. In 2002, Diana travels back to her native Colombia to portrait Sandra, a cocaine maker in the soap opera El Precio del Silencio (Telefutura Network). However, anxious to make films and to explore her talent and passion, Diana left Miami and moved to Los Angeles. In October 2006, Franco has the opportunity to be part of the very selected cast of the short film: Marring God (AFI) where she plays Maricela, the single mother of Lola, played by Ashlyn Sanchez (Crash) and Ivy, played by Alexa Vega (Spy Kids). Most recently, we have seen her in Al Rojo Vivo Fin De Semana Con Candela Ferro (Telemundo) were she has participated as entertainment news producer and correspondent as well as special guest of Al RojoVivo Con Maria Celeste while covering the highest profile court cases of the Spanish Celebrity world. Also, in 2008, Diana was invited as a guest star in Telemundo Studios telenovela Pecados Ajenos playing Lola, Natalia Ruiz (Lorena Rojas) cell mate and Officer Joyer in El Rostro De Analia.
