A confluence of complications wreaked havoc on Younger Season 7 and significantly hampered the appearance of a main character.
In Younger, Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster played Liza Miller, a 40-year-old woman who poses as someone much younger than her actual age to give herself a leg up in the job market.
Liza lands a gig at a high-powered publishing gig called Empirical Press and must maintain the facade that she’s in her 20s, despite frequent circumstances that threaten to out her. Miriam Shor played Diana Trout, Liza’s boss at Empirical.

It's only been a few months since Emily in Paris season 4 came to an end, but I don't know about you... I'm ready for season 5! In the show's most recent two-part release, Emily began the season getting closure with Alfie before falling into an official relationship with Gabriel, and ended the season moving to Rome and dating the handsome Italian businessman Marcello.
Thankfully, Netflix renewed Emily in Paris season 5, which will continue Emily's adventures in Rome with Marcello. In spite of some legitimate questions, Gabriel will be back to seemingly fight for Emily, but we'll see how that goes for him. Hopefully, season 5 will begin filming soon for a release date later this year, but until then, there's a new show that's a perfect replacement for Netflix's rom-com.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Younger!
The TV Land comedy Younger, which stars Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, includes numerous established actors across seven seasons, creating lovable and entertaining characters. The show follows a 40-year-old divorcee mom named Liza Miller, who lies about her age to get an assistant job at a publishing house. Younger built a large fanbase across six years, garnering numerous nominations at the Critics' Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards.
Besides the wacky premise, the show thrives thanks to the incredible cast. Though Liza is the lead, many of her friends, coworkers, and love interests have the same amount of time and character development in Younger, making them just as enjoyable as the quirky aspiring editor. Luckily, the cast consists of numerous established actors and a handful of standout up-and-comers who make even the most hateable character fun to watch.

While Younger was just a little TV series that started on TV Land, it blew up to become hugely popular thanks to the pretty stellar Younger cast. Foster stars as Liza Miller, a 40-year-old divorcee who realizes she can pass off as a 20-something woman and lies about her age to get a job in the publishing industry. She then makes new friends but has to keep lying about her age to protect her job. Some actors have been in the business for decades, and some have lengthy resumes in the theater world.
Hilary Duff may have been the most recognizable name in the cast. Still, fans might recognize other cast members from projects they have been in, with Foster in the lead role and names like Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor in key supporting roles. The new year is fast approaching, and it's already time to start planning your 2025 binge-watches. Apart from all of the excellent new streaming shows set to premiere throughout the year, there are inevitably a whole crop of fan-favorite shows that find their way onto Netflix for an unexpected resurgence, just like Suits, Your Honor, and plenty of other recents hits.
In January 2025, Netflix welcomes a small handful of recent small screen favorites like TV Land's rom-com Younger and the newest spinoff from The Walking Dead universe coming to Netflix for the first time, and in another case, a time-tested hit procedural will see its earliest seasons returning after being removed months prior.
But of course, with the monthly additions on Netflix, there are the inevitable removals. While the bulk of the content leaving Netflix in January 2025 consists of movies, there are a trio of fan-favorite series that fans will...

Emily in Paris is one of the best shows on Netflix and has been since the series premiered in October 2020. Since then, we've seen four seasons of the hit Netflix original series starring Lily Collins. The most recent season, Emily in Paris season 4, was released in two parts in August and September 2024, respectively. There's been a lot of talk lately about Emily in Paris season 5, which was announced via Netflix this fall.
Because this show is so popular and beloved and because we have so long to wait until season 5 premieres, fans are looking for new shows like Emily in Paris to watch while they wait. Before has earned a career-low Rotten Tomatoes score for star Billy Crystal. The actor, who is best known for his roles in comedies including When Harry Met Sally, Monsters, Inc., and City Slickers, stars in the Apple TV+ series as widower psychologist Eli, who discovers that he has a mysterious connection to his newest patient. The Before cast also includes Jacobi Jupe, Maria Dizzia, Ava Lalezarzadeh, Rosie Perez, Judith Light, Itzhak Perlman, and Miriam Shor.
Rotten Tomatoes has now tabulated a score for Before out of 12 different critics' reviews. While it could fluctuate as more reviews are added, at the time of writing, it is a firmly Rotten 33%. This marks the worst Rotten Tomatoes score for a project with Crystal in a major role since 2012, when he starred in both Parental Guidance (18%) and Small Apartments (30%). In general, it is his worst score since 2016's The Comedian (24%), in which he made a cameo as himself.

There are two things I never thought I would say in the same sentence: “Billy Crystal stars in Before, an Eli Roth-produced psychological horror thriller.” While it’s refreshing to see Apple TV+ stream something more mainstream instead of the usual prestige projects that no one watches, this is a misstep in almost every way.
The series is poorly written, with disjointed scenes and weak tropes already filled with ’80s and ’90s thriller clichés. And when the story starts to trudge along, which is often, it throws in an inexplicable, dreamlike jump-scare cut that does nothing but cause headaches and a touch of vertigo. It’s only a matter of time Before the series sparks acute conversion boredom household-wide.

Emily in Paris became one of Netflix’s biggest hit series upon its release but I think it was also one of the most hated shows. Created by Darren Star, the romantic-comedy series stars Lily Collins as the title character, and the series is filled with stunning scenery, glamorous fashion moments, and beautiful and delicious-looking food. Younger is a unique show defying genre tropes by not pairing everyone off for a 'happy' ending. Characters like Zane and Diana have unclear relationship statuses post-show, leaving fans to speculate. Liza and Josh's journey in Younger ends with a hint at a happy ending, mirroring their meet-cute moment.
Younger, as much as it is a series about friendship, careers, and making it in New York, is a show about relationships. Based on the book of the same name by Pamela Redmond Satran, the comedy-drama ran for 7 seasons between 2015 and 2021, and focuses on Liza, a recently divorced woman in her 40s who decides to pretend to be in her 20s. Like many similar shows, there's a central will-they-won't-they love triangle in Younger, between Liza, Josh, and Charles and everyone starts out single and finds their way through various dating mishaps to a (hopefully) happy ending.

Sam Elliott and Howard Stern might have more in common than you think: They’re both very tall, they’re both known for their distinct voices, and they were considered for the same role in Bradley Cooper‘s A Star Is Born. Cooper was a guest on Monday’s (November 27th) episode of The Howard Stern Show, and the radio host revealed that he declined playing Jackson’s older brother Bobby in the 2018 film before the part went to Elliott.
Via Billboard, the topic of A Star Is Born came up after Stern and Cooper — who are also close friends outside of the biz — discussed Cooper’s new Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro. Stern began praising Cooper’s musical capabilities, after which the radio personality said he still gets some flack for turning down a role Cooper had offered him in A Star Is Born.

Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre’s children Nina Maria Felicia Bernstein, Jamie Bernstein and Alexander Bernstein are opening up about how much their mother knew about their father’s bisexuality.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Bradley Cooper and correspondent Mo Rocca sat down with the three kids to discuss Netflix’s upcoming film Maestro, which Cooper starred in, directed and co-wrote with Josh Singer.
“Our mom was the most elegant, delicious person,” Nina said. Jamie added, “She knew exactly what the deal was.” Alexander chimed in, “They, obviously, loved each other to death. They never fought in front of us. We never saw any darkness. We felt a lot. They kept everything very well tidied and pretty well hidden.”
The segment explained that while Bernstein and Montealeagre truly loved each other, their relationship was complicated by the fact that the legendary composer had affairs with men over the course of their marriage.

The relationship between art and commerce has always been a prickly one for creative people. Making a living — a good living — in an artistic field requires skill and talent, yes, but it more often than not also requires the artist to tailor their work to popular trends or to stifle one's own thornier aspects to satisfy a mass audience. Now, when I say "mass audience," what this invariably means is a mass white audience. Just as heterosexual people are seen as the baseline norm of the sexual spectrum, white people are seen as the baseline norm when it comes to cultural consumption. For a piece of art to be considered widely successful, it is that white audience that movie studios, record labels, and book publishers so desperately want, and anything beyond that is basically just thought of as found money.
For Black artists, connecting with that lucrative audience poses even more challenges.

Bradley Cooper embodies Leonard Bernstein in the new trailer for Maestro, the actor-director’s acclaimed biopic about the legendary composer and his lifelong relationship with Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan.
Following its teaser trailer this summer, the latest preview further highlights the painstaking (and somewhat controversial) level of detail that Cooper brought to the film, which is divided into both black-and-white (to show flashbacks of Bernstein and Montealegre’s life) and almost cinema verite-style color footage to document the composer’s later years.

Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan bring Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre to life in the first official trailer for “Maestro,” premiering in limited theaters on Nov. 22 and arriving on Netflix Dec. 20.
In the trailer, Cooper and Mulligan travel through time as the couple experiences love, betrayal and music. The movie encompasses Bernstein’s professional life but glosses over his commercial achievements in favor of focusing on his complicated relationship with Montealegre.
“If summer doesn’t sing in you then nothing sings in you,” Cooper says at the beginning of the trailer as an old man, gently playing the piano. Later on in the trailer, but depicting the young couple decades before, Mulligan finishes the sentence: “And if nothing sings in you, then you can’t make music.”

Bradley Cooper was so committed to staying in character during the filming of his upcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic, Maestro, that he spent five-hour sessions in makeup for the parts of the movie when he appeared as the composer in his 70s.
While speaking at the New York Film Festival on Monday (October 2nd), Oscar-winning makeup artist Kazu Hiro said (via Entertainment Weekly) that Cooper also moved up the film’s already-early call times to 1:00 a.m. toward the end of filming to ensure he would only appear in front of the cast and crew while fully transformed — controversial prosthetic nose and all.
“The last stage, he had covered pretty much everywhere, the bodysuit and arms. That took over five hours,” Hiro recalled. “Our call time was 1 in the morning. The other thing was he wanted makeup to be finished before the crew call, so he would appear as Lenny...

The makeup artist behind Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein movie Maestro has said he didn’t expect the backlash to the film’s prosthetic nose, which has been criticised by some as an example of ‘jewface’.

Leonard Bernstein’s family has defended Bradley Cooper’s use of a large prosthetic nose in his upcoming Netflix biopic Maestro about the American composer. The debate over Bradley Cooper’s transformation into Leonard Bernstein for “Maestro” has been put to rest courtesy of Bernstein’s children Jamie, Alexander, and Nina Bernstein.

After Netflix released the first trailer for Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” a biographical romance about Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre, many viewers took issue with Cooper’s large prosthetic nose, deeming it the latest example of Hollywood’s stereotypical or inauthentic portrayal of Jewish people, known as “Jewface.”
But in a statement posted to Bernstein’s Twitter account, the late conductor’s children defended Cooper’s decision to “use makeup to amplify his resemblance” to their father. Cooper directed “Maestro” and stars as Bernstein opposite Carey Mulligan as Montealegre.

Practice makes perfect for Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan in the first official teaser trailer for Maestro. Starring as the acclaimed composer Leonard Bernstein and his great love Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein, the pair sit in a field with their backs pressed against each other. They’re certain that they can intertwine their minds closely enough to know what the other is thinking if they concentrate enough. As a young couple, they start simple: with numbers. “You should stop and think because I am sending it to you,” Felicia tells Leonard.

Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan are as gentle as can be while the makeup team goes hard in the official teaser trailer for Maestro.
A biopic of the great American composer Leonard Bernstein, Maestro chronicles the musical titan’s decades-long partnership with his wife Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (Mulligan). The trailer begins in black-and-white when the pair are young and perhaps even digitally de-aged — Cooper in particular looks unusually baby-faced in some of these scenes, especially around the eyes. We also see them in vibrant color and heavy prosthetics when they have grown old together, in a time period that is likely the late 1980s or 1990 towards the end of Bernstein’s life.
The theme of the trailer is love at its warmest and most unconditional. The couple’s well-documented problems are not mentioned, though the script from Cooper and Josh Singer will no doubt touch on these subjects. As...
