Bearded, balding German character actor and cabaret performer, at his peak in the 1920's and 30's. On stage from 1904.

In the 30's he became a popular actor in support roles.

The turmoils of World War 2 didn't detract from his film career and he continued successfully with movies like "Kora Terry" (1940), "Die goldene Stadt" (1942) and "Romanze in Moll" (1943).

After the war he took only part in few more movies.
