Matsutarô Kawaguchi was born on 1 October 1899 in Tokyo, Japan. He was a writer and director, known for Ugetsu monogatari (1953), Mabuta no haha (1952) and Chikamatsu monogatari (1954). He was married to Aiko Mimasu. He died on 9 June 1985 in Japan.
