The Batman universe has seen numerous adaptations over the years, each bringing its own flavor to the Caped Crusader’s storied saga. While Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, particularly Batman Begins, set a new standard for superhero cinema, Matt Reeves’ The Batman also opened to starkly positive reviews back in 2022.

Starring Robert Pattinson, the movie set up a new reboot and starred Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as the fan-favorite James Gordon. Now however, in what might be a slightly unnecessary debate, fans began comparing the two origin stories, with quite a few claiming that Batman Begins does not hold a candle to Pattinson’s 2022 remake.
Of course, there were plenty who think otherwise as well.
Fans have chosen between Batman Begins and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman

Christian Bale has scored quite a few remarkably successful projects as one of the best actors in the industry, and he hasn’t hesitated to perform immaculately in pretty much every single one of them either. But while all of them are commendable, perhaps none comes as close to perfection as The Dark Knight, helmed by the mastermind Christopher Nolan.

Besides quite literally being regarded as one of the best Batman movies created to date, the second titular movie in this film series also even holds a major record that would be hard to replicate for any other movie. The masterpiece stars such legendary actors with such impeccable acting chops that pretty much the entire main cast has been acknowledged by the Academy at least once.

The animated film received mixed reviews from fans and did not garner much hype and excitement from general audiences. Now, a sequel has been announced titled Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League. But most fans are either uninterested or pissed at the creators for not attempting other comic arcs that are more memorable and beloved by the community.

The young actors of the series, Benjamin McKenzie, Adam Brody, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson quickly became in-demand stars and the theme song “California” by Phantom Planet became a top ten hit in several countries while also reaching 35 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.

Several members of the cast went on to lead their own series and films and others have popped up on hit shows from “How I Met Your Mother” to “Grey’s Anatomy.” Here’s what they’ve been up to since “The O.C.” signed off in February 2007.

Cillian Murphy's latest role as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" has garnered significant buzz and critical acclaim, with some predicting that his intimate, complex portrayal of the man behind the atomic bomb will earn him an Oscar nomination. Though Murphy is undoubtedly brilliant in the biographical epic, the Irish actor has had over 25 years of preparation for the role through a number of projects in film, TV, and theater.
Murphy, like many actors, began his acting career on stage. In 1996, he made his stage debut in Enda Walsh's play "Disco Pigs," which was later adapted into a feature film starring Murphy in 2001. By the early 2000s, the actor took on several roles, but his role as Jim in the post-apocalyptic horror film "28 Days Later" propelled him into Hollywood. In 2005, he starred in "Batman Begins" and began what would become a decades-long collaborative friendship with Christopher Nolan.

Jeffrey Wright's face and acting style are likely very familiar to you if you're a genre fan. He's appeared in "The Hunger Games" franchise, the video game "The Last of Us Part II," Marvel's animated series "What If... ?," and "Westworld." The Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor played the role of Felix Leiter in three James Bond films with Daniel Craig: "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," and "No Time to Die." He's even been on "Sesame Street." Even with these major roles, his biggest one to date as far as fandom goes is his work as Lieutenant James Gordon in Matt Reeves' gothic and sleuthful "The Batman."

The latest Warner Animated DC feature film adapts the 2000-2001 Elseworlds miniseries Batman: The Doom that Came to Gotham. The fun of the Elseworlds comics, and soon the live-action versions under the new artistic regime, is taking the familiar and imagining them in other times and other places. Here, we do back to the early 20th century and overlay it with a dose of Loftcraftian horror.

We all know the saga of the Batgirl movie at this point; The DC movie starred Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl, but Warner Bros. Discovery shelved the movie last summer, despite the fact that it was nearly finished post-production. The move was said to take advantage of a tax write-down, but it may also be that the film just wasn’t all that good. During yesterday’s DC press event, DC Studios’ Peter Safran commented on Batgirl, saying that the studio made the right choice to drop the movie as it would have hurt the DC brand.
“I saw the movie, and there are a lot of incredibly talented people in front of and behind the camera on that film. But that film was not releasable, and it happens sometimes,” Peter Safran said. “That film was not releasable. I actually think that [president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery David] Zaslav and the team made a...

Warner Bros. isn’t in the business of making bad movies. At least, that’s the common refrain on social media now that David Zaslav, chief executive of the newly combined Warner Bros. Discovery, is in charge. What seems to be a more accurate assessment is that Warner Bros. isn’t in the business of making movies that aren’t guaranteed to line company coffers.
The cancellations of Batgirl and Scoob!: Holiday Haunt, which until Tuesday were both in postproduction, have sent shock waves through Hollywood. In the case of Batgirl, social media pundits claimed the film was shelved because it was so bad it couldn’t be released. This, of course, operates under the assumption that Warners hasn’t released plenty of bad movies before — bad movies that made money. And it suggests that a regime change at Warners means we should...

Batgirl star Leslie Grace has responded to the shock cancellation of the DC Comics movie, which has been shelved by HBO Max. The In the Heights breakout was cast as Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl), a Gotham City vigilante and the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon (played by J.K. Simmons). Filming on the movie had been completed and was in post-production when Warner Bros. Discovery decided to pull the plug on the project on Tuesday, August 2. “On the heels of the recent news about our movie Batgirl, I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over 7 months in Scotland,” Grace wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, August 3. “I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process!” She continued: “To every Batgirl fan — Thank You for the love and belief,...

A day after the surprising news that Batgirl will not be released, the filmmakers behind the project are speaking out.
“We are saddened and shocked by the news. We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves. "Batgirl", the 90 million budgeted live-action superhero feature, based on the DC Comics character, starring Leslie Grace as 'Barbara Gordon', directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, has been canceled out of a scheduled theatrical release/streaming run on HBO Max, following several poorly reviewed test screenings:

In a surprising development, Warner Bros. will no longer be releasing Batgirl, the DC film that already completed shooting and was expected to arrive on HBO Max this year. The unusual move comes after a change in leadership at Warners, with newly installed Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav prioritizing cost-cutting measures and refocusing Warners on creating theatrical films rather than projects for streaming, as had been a priority for former WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar.
Batgirl was budgeted at around 80 million, with costs rising to nearly 90 million due to Covid-19 protocols. It’s a hefty sum, but significantly lower than DC theatrical releases, thus the film is said not to have the spectacle that audiences have come to expect from DC fare. (The Batman, released in March, had a budget of 185 million, before marketing costs.) Warners has also decided to shelve animated feature Scoob!: Holiday Haunt,...
