Exclusive: Meghan Shankar is moving from management back to her agency roots, joining TalentWorks as an agent in their theatrical department.

Shankar began her career at London’s boutique talent agency Creative Artists Management. She joined the Los Angeles agency market in 2015, working in The Gersh Agency’s Los Angeles office, followed by a stint at Domain Talent.

In 2019, Shankar launched the management company 11:11 Entertainment with Laura Gibson and Hannah Roth.

In her move to TalentWorks, she brings with her a roster of clients including Samuel Anderson (Netflix’s Another Life), Nikola Djuricko (Netflix’s Stranger Things), Robson Green (PBS & ITV’s Grantchester), Grace Hogg-Robinson, Jasmine Jobson (BAFTA nominated for Netflix’s Top Boy), Rowena King, and Max Parker (ITV’s Emmerdale), among others.

Brandy Gold has been at TalentWorks for more than 20 years: first as receptionist, then in the children’s commercial department, followed by children’s theatrical and for the last 10 years in the adult theatrical department where she is currently Vice President.

Rita Vennari has been elected president of the Association of Talent Agents, the trade organization that has been locked in a battle with the Writers Guild of America for nearly a year.

Vennari is president of Sbv Talent, a commercial and voiceover agency that she founded in 1978. She will serve a two-year term as president of the Ata. She succeeds Jim Gosnell, CEO of Apa, in the role. Rick Levy of ICM, Harry Gold of TalentWorks, Shelly Sroloff of CAA and Pearl Wexler of Kohner Agency were also elected to officer posts.

Rita Vennari has been elected president of the Association of Talent Agents, which has been locked in a battle with the Writers Guild for the past nine months. Vennari, who is president of the Sutton Barth Vennari talent agency, had been the Ata’s 2nd vice president.

She is the first female president of the Ata, succeeding Apa CEO Jim Gosnell in the post.

“I am very grateful to the Ata membership and the Ata board of directors to be elected president – and the first woman president,” Vennari said. “It is both humbling and gratifying. Exclusive: So You Think You Can Dance judge Mary Murphy has signed with TalentWorks for theatrical and reality representation. Murphy has been on the hit Fox reality dance competition for most of its nine seasons. A former world-champion ballroom dancer, she continues to judge at major ballroom competitions in addition to guest-judging on international Sytycd shows; runs her own academy in San Diego; and created Mary’s Chance to Dance Program, a nonprofit organization that encourages schools to offer dance as a regular part of their curriculum. UTA has signed former King of Queens star Leah Remini, currently a co-host of CBS’ daytime talk show The Talk alongside creator Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete and Sharon Osbourne. Remini, who comes to UTA from TalentWorks, where she was repped by long-time agent Harry Gold, continues to be with attorney Jon Moonves. Former Growing Pains star Tracey Gold gave birth on Tuesday night to a baby boy – the actress's and her husband Roby Marshall's fourth son, People has confirmed.
