Rupert Ames is a supporting antagonist in the 2009 action crime film Law Abiding Citizen. He was Clarence Darby's accomplice, who helped him break into Clyde Shelton's house and raid him.
He was portrayed by Josh Stewart, who also playeed Barsad in The Dark Knight Rises and John Pilgrim in Netflix's The Punisher.
Biography[]
Rupert Ames was an accomplice of the savage criminal Clarence Darby who aided him in burglarizing Clyde Shelton's house. However, Darby tortured Clyde, raped his wife and kills her, and kills (possibly sexually assaults) their daughter. Rupert tries convincing him to stop, but Darby furiously tells him to remain silent and resume plundering the goods from the Shelton family.
A year later he is captured and imprisoned for the crime he committed. Clyde unites a court in the judge to bring justice and retribution for the death of his wife and daughter. Ames is interrogated and confirms that he was unaware of Darby's abhorrent crime of raping Sheltons wife. However, Ames is sentenced to death while Clarence is released, much to Shelton leading to be detaining the judge.
Ames' execution goes perniciously inadvertent as the drug the prosecutors use for the elimination, is replaced by anti-convulsant. Rupert dies in an infrequent agony, while Clyde is relieved of his family being partially avenged, and then goes off to finish off Clarence.
