Bye bye, honey.
~ Albert after stabbing himself and framing Ava.

Albert Fekus is a supporting antagonist in Season Five of Justified, and a minor character in Season Six. He is a prison guard at the Harlan County Jail who attempts to rape Ava Crowder while she is imprisoned awaiting trial.

He is portrayed by Danny Strong.

Biography[]

Season Five[]

After Ava reports to prison following her arrest for concealing the body of Delroy Baker, she is accosted by Albert, who she mocks due to his diminutive stature. A furious Albert attacks Ava and tries to force himself on her, but is interrupted by the arrival of fellow guard Susan Crane, forcing him to cease his assault, pathetically claiming that Ava slipped and grabbed his arm. Ava backs up his story to avoid retaliation from Albert. Susan later talks to Albert about Ava, revealing she knows what he was doing. Albert says that he "[hasn't] figured out which way she swings yet", to which Susan responds by beating him down with her baton, telling him that she's protected and threatening to put out her cigarette on his eye unless he promises not to touch her again.

Frustrated, Albert later enters the cell which Ava shares with fellow inmate Sally, where he plants a shiv under Ava's pillow and pretends to find it. He uses it to stab himself and cut his forearm, calling out to the other guards that Ava attacked him. Sally backs him up and Ava is transferred to Kentucky State Women's Prison.

After Ava tells her fiancée Boyd Crowder what happened, he stalks Albert to a bar, and beats and abducts him after a woman working for Boyd lures him out, before tying him up and threatening him at knifepoint to recant his statement or he'll do what he did to himself but worse. Just as Boyd is about to start cutting him, Albert admits that he "loves" Ava, before breaking down and telling Boyd that Ava is the only woman he doesn't have the power to make his, and that he framed her because he was angry he couldn't have her, but couldn't bring himself to hurt her. This resonates with Boyd, who cuts him free and allows him to run away before he can change his mind.

US Marshal Raylan Givens later forces Albert and Sally to recant their statements against Ava so she'll be released from state prison and can help the marshals make a federal case against Boyd.

Season Six[]

In Season Six, Ava asks Katherine Hale to find out why Albert recanted his statement and had her released, sending Wynn Duffy and Mike Cosmatopolis to interrogate him. Despite being repeatedly shocked with a cattle prod, Albert refuses to give up any information, and the two leave. It's then revealed that US Marshals Rachel Brooks and Tim Gutterson are monitoring him when the two walk out of a secret room. Rachel says that they're never going to find out he was helping them get Ava out for a federal case against Boyd, and Gutterson thanks him for his cooperation.
