Christmas Card: Oct Stamp of the Month and Frosted Workshop on the Go Packet

We made this fun card at my workshop this month. I just LOVE the Frosted Card Workshop on the Go! We also used the October Stamp of the Month, Silver Shimmer Trim (it's self adhesive!), and a little silver bling from the Base & Bling Floral Accents. And of course we cut out the ornament using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!

NEW WORKSHOP FORMAT!

I am switching things up to make my workshops more consumer friendly! Do you have stacks of paper that you haven't used? This format will eliminate that, but still provide you with the fun you've always enjoyed! Each month you are encouraged to get the Workshop on the Go to use the following month. I will demonstrate and provide the cut papers for one project and the rest of the workshop time will be spent using the rest of your packet. I will have samples for you to copy or feel free to be creative too!
Sat, Oct 19th from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Place: My home in Fircrest, WA

RSVP: Before 10/16 by commenting below so I have enough time to precut the project papers for everyone. Thanks!

Workshop on the Go: Frosted Cardmaking Kit (the Frosted paper packet is also encouraged so you have a variety of background papers) Many people pre-purchased this kit at the Sept workshop, but there is still time to order it. Let me know if I can help you with that.

Cost: $3 (covers cost for project & other consumables)

Bring: Adhesive, scissor, paper trimmer

Suggested Items: Olive, Cocoa, Ruby, and Twilight ink pads + anything else you might need for your personal projects

FREE Stamps: Each person that attends and places a WOTG order at 3 workshops will be put on my hostess list and will receive a free exclusive hostess stamp of your choice when your month arrives and the workshop sales reach $150 or more.

Didn't preorder? You are welcome to come and make a card and bring any other CTMH supplies to work on.

CTMH Washi Tape & Puns of Praise Stamp Set

I received a similar card at the Close to My Heart convention a few weeks ago and LOVED the simplicity of it. There is a little trick to stamping on the circle though. Ready? Don't glue/tape the circle down before you stamp! Just place it on the card and then stamp. Then you can move the circle slightly closer to the stamped image to avoid that tiny space that you normally see when you stamp off the edge of cardstock. Get it?

Items featured here are:
Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape

1 1/4" Circle Punch
Lagoon Cardstock
Puns of Praise Stamp set
Black Ink
 Corner Rounder (retired WHAT!??)

Circle Christian Card

I have wanted to use this stamp for a while and wanted to keep it simple so I could make several duplicate. I cut the 4x4 circle cards with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. The feet stamp is from the Surf's Up Workshop on the Go Kit which is stamped in Champagne ink onto the Cashmere cardstock. The saying is just stamped in black in the center of the card. If you look closely, you can find the Bitty Clear Sparkles. They really add quite a bit to the card!

CTMH Bright Sunshiny Day and Surf's Up Papers

Throughout the next week I will post the cards from my last workshop. Isn't this a fun vintage-looking card? We used Cocoa ink to stamp the images and sponge ink around the edges. Using Cashmere cardstock and coloring the image with Watercolor pencils adds to the vintage look as well. The burlap ribbon was cut in half and I pulled a few of the fibers out to add some fringe. Here are a few other supplies:

June Stamp of the Month with the Oklahoma Relief Fundraiser Stamp

I had a little bit of time this afternoon to work on this card and wanted to share it with you. I was excited to use my new Hollyhock Alcohol markers, the June Stamp of the Month, plus the special "Thank You" stamp. The "Thank You" stamp is just $2.95 and 100% of profits from sales of this stamp set from May 23 to June 30 will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid tornado victims in Oklahoma. The tulip and leaves were cut out using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge which makes it SO quick! I then stamped the tulip and leaves using Black Stazon Ink onto the cutouts. I used a round sponge along with Hollyhock and Olive ink pads to edge the cutouts as well. The border is from a stamp set called In the Background. I just stamped it with black ink onto a Colonial White Card. The pink lines were created using the Hollyhock marker and the CTMH ruler. To color the tulip, leaves, and "You," I used the Hollyhock and Olive Alcohol Marker sets. As you can see, I colored parts of the images with lighter and darker markers to make the detailed pattern stand out. Fun! The tulip and one leaf is popped out on the card using Foam Tape. Super easy! For more ideas using the June Stamp of the Month, check out the blog hop here.

For Always Bag with NEW Textiles!

I love how our new Textiles coordinate with our paper packets! I've seen several scrapbook ideas using the fabric, but I wanted to stretch my creativity and come up with something different. Can you believe both the bow and the black and white flower were created with the For Always Textiles!? Here is how I used it on this cutie-patooty bag:

  1. Cut out the paper bag using the For Always paper packet and the Artiste Cricut Cartridge. I actually cut out two of them with two of the same papers and cut off the flap of one to add contrast
  2. Cut out the spiral flowers, a butterfly, and a scallop border using the same cartridge with Lagoon, Ruby, and Honey cardstock (a sheet of all of these colors come in the For Always paper packet!)
  3. Add a piece of the Black Shimmer Trim, chevron paper from the For Always paper packet, and the scallop border to the front of the bag
  4. Snip the side of a piece of black Textiles about 1" down on the fabric and tear the rest to create a long strip. Tie in a bow at the top of the bag.
  5. Here is how I made the spiral fabric flower:
    • Cut/tear two strips of the white filigree fabric about 1" in thickness
    • Fold the fabric in half so it is now 1/2" thick.  You can iron this to stay, but I just kept folding it as I rolled it
    • Tack the two strips together to make one long strip using a hot glue gun (careful you don't burn your fingers!)
    • Starting from one end, roll the fabric about 4-5 times. Use the hot glue gun to tack it so it doesn't unroll
    • Now just start rolling and twisting at the same time until you've rolled it all together
    • Tack the loose end to the back
    • You can glue this to a punched cardstock circle or just add it to your papercraft
    • I added a black brad to the center of the flowers using Liquid Glass
    • I also added a Foundry Pin Clip to hold the butterfly
    • For an easy tutorial, check out this You Tube tutorial
These products can be ordered on my website or let me know if you have any questions!
