Rock am Ring ve Rock im Park festivalleri, her yıl Almanya'da düzenlenen iki eşzamanlı rock müzik festivalidir. Rock am Ring, Nürburgring yarış pistinde gerçekleşirken, Rock im Park Nürnberg'deki Zeppelinfeld'de gerçekleşmektedir.

İçerik olarak ağırlıklı rock ve metal grupları performans sergiler. Nadiren pop ve rap sanatçıları da sahne alır.
Neredeyse aynı kadroları paylaşan iki festival genellikle tek bir etkinlik olarak kabul edilir. Üç günlük etkinlik boyunca tüm sanatçılar bir gün Nürburgring'de ve bir gün Nürnberg'de sahne alır. Bazen bir grubun/sanatçının yalnızca festivallerden birinde sahne aldığı küçük istisnalar da olur. (Genellikle Rock am Ring ana festival görevi görür)
Birleşik olarak Rock im Park ve Rock am Ring, Almanya'da düzenlenen en büyük müzik festivalleridir. 2007 toplamda 150.000 kişinin katılmasıyla festival kendi seyirci rekorunu kırdı. Biletler genellikle duyurulduğu ilk gün tükenir.[1]
Tarihçe
değiştirRock am Ring, başlangıçta Nürburgring motor sporları kompleksinde 1985'te yarış pistinin daha yeni ve daha kısa bir versiyonunun açılışını kutlayan bir kerelik bir festival olarak planlanmıştı, ancak ticari başarısı nedeniyle (75.000 izleyici katılımı) yıllık bir etkinlik haline getirilme kararı alındı. Ancak, 1988 etkinliğine katılımda bir düşüşten sonra, festival iki yıllığına ara verildi. 1991'de festival yeni bir konseptle geri döndü: tanınmış sanatçıların yanı sıra etkinlik organizatörleri daha az bilinen gelecek vadeden grupları da halka sunmaya başladı. 1993 yılında Rock im Park ilk kez Viyana'da gerçekleşti. 1994 etkinliği için, Rock im Park kullanılmayan Münih-Riem havaalanına taşındı ve ertesi yıl 1995 ve 1996 etkinliği için ise Münih Olympiastadion'a konserler gerçekleşti. 1997'de Rock im Park, Nürnberg'deki Frankenstadion'a taşındı ve stadyum 2006 Futbol Dünya Kupası için yenilendiğinden, 2004'te stadyum kullanılamayana kadar burada kaldı. 2004 yılından bu yana mekan, Luitpoldhain'e taşınan 2006 festivali dışında Rock im Park'ın düzenlendiği mevcut Zeppellinfeld'e tekrar taşındı.
2007 festivali, aynı anda zıplayan büyük bedenlerin etkilerini test etmek için bir bilim deneyinde kullanıldı. Deney verileri, tüm Çin popülasyonunun uyum içinde sıçraması durumunda sonucu hesaplamak için kullanıldı. Deney, teorik olaydan önemli bir sonuç çıkmayacağı sonucuna vardı.[2]
Rock am Ring'in 29. yılının ardından, Nürburgring'in yeni sahibi sözleşmenin uzatılmamasına karar verdi. Festival, 2015 ve 2016'da başka bir yerde (Mendig Hava Üssü/Vulkaneifel) devam etti ve 2017'de Nürburgring'e döndü.[3]
