Danretsuken in action
Drawing from his Kokyugenryuu parody, the attack functions and works similar to SNK characters Ryo Sakazaki and Takuma Sakazaki's Zanretsuken (暫烈拳 "Brief Fury Fists"), although Dan uses both hands to perform the punching barrage rather than performing a one-handed barrage. With Dan's version, it is not an automatic attack that requires only one hit, but it is one that opens up multiple new offense abilities for him.
Tactics
Danretsuken serves as Dan's most consistent special move, having a balance of range, damage, speed, and okizeme that make it a decent way at ending any combo. Each version cancels from the corresponding strength, with the Light Punch version comboing from his light normals. However, all versions are unsafe at -10 on block.
The EX Danretsuken deals less damage than its other variations, but launches the opponent afterward for a juggle. This lets Dan extend his combos and get even more damage afterward, often with a Dankukyaku and a Koryuken afterwards.
If the first hit of Danretsuken whiffs on a juggled opponent, the rest of the hits will not add to the juggle count at all, allowing Dan to follow up with other attacks, such as his Koryuken.

Trivia
- When connecting with the Danretsuken and not attacking afterwards, Dan will say "Ichi oku nen hayain da yo" (一億年早いんだよ), roughly translating as "you're 100 million years too early". This is likely a reference to similar quotes by Virtua Fighter's Akira Yuki (you're 10 years to early) and SNK's Ryuji Yamazaki (you're 100 years too early), though to showcase Dan's arrogance, not only does he use a much bigger number than the other two, he says it after using an attack while the other two say it as their win quote.
