Amaoroshi is Gouken's back throw in the Street Fighter IV series.
Description
Executed by pressing back and light punch and light kick together, Gouken grabs onto the opponent and hoists them over his head, leaving them open to followup attacks as they fall down. In OMEGA Mode, the animation is different, after the initial hoist, Gouken strikes the opponent with a one hit Tatsumaki Gorasen before striking them down with an overhead palm strike.
Tactics
This throw allows for follow-ups as Gouken can act immediately after throwing the opponent, catching them with an airborne Tatsumaki Gorasen or using any attack available to Gouken's disposal. The majority of players will use Gouken's Shin Shoryuken Ultra Combo or his Super Combo Forbidden Shoryuken for a free combo and massive damage. Gouken can also create resets by using Hyakkishu to confuse the opponent's block patterns.
Trivia
- Amaroshi does only one damage with the Ultra Street Fighter IV version of the move and cannot KO an opponent. This ties it in damage for the weakest command grab in terms of damage in the Street Fighter IV series with Yun and Yang's Tenshin Special Attack, only beaten by Fei Long's Tenshin. The OMEGA version of the attack however, does 140 damage.
