Rugosan King coral was a species of gigantic green coral that grew in the coral forests of the moon Rugosa.[1] During the Clone Wars, the Toydarian King Katuunko arranged to meet the Jedi grandmaster Yoda atop one of the fronds of a Rugosan King coral in order to discuss his homeworld Toydaria joining the Galactic Republic. After landing his starship on the coral, he was instead greeted by Separatist agent Asajj Ventress, who presented a hologram of Count Dooku proposing Toydaria join the Separatists instead.[2]
After Katuunko got in contact with Yoda, a deal was made that if the Jedi could reach the Rugosan King coral before the sun set, then Toydaria would join the Republic, and if not, then it would join the Separatists. Ultimately Yoda managed to reach the coral with a group of clone troopers, whom Ventress try to crush with debris when she damaged the King Rugosan coral by triggering Katuunko's starship to explode. Yoda used the Force to prevent the coral and starship debris from reaching his allies, which allowed Ventress time to escape.[2]
