"Rancor" is the eleventh episode of the webseries Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures.[1] The episode was released on StarWarsKids.com on November 18, 2021,[2] alongside the series' twelfth episode, "Tauntaun."[1]

Official description[]

It's no secret that a rancor will eat anything, but the real mystery is how they keep their teeth so clean. Aree has to get up close and personal to find out!

Plot summary[]

SF-R3 ("Aree") and CAM visit Dathomir on behalf of the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts to look after the dental health of rancors. Aree is soon swallowed by a rancor. He attempts to brush the creature's teeth but is spat out by the rancor. Cam records the adventure.

Later, Aree places a bone between the rancor's mouth but it disposes of the bone. Undeterred, Aree places a metal level between the rancor's teeth and proceeds to brush the rancor's mouth. He works overnight. The following morning, Aree finishes his work. However, the rancor breaks free and blows the droid away.

Aree watches as a flock of blue Dathomir birds gather around the rancor and cleans the rancor's teeth. Aree concludes that the best way to brush a rancor's teeth is to let nature do its things. Cam pulls Aree away as he lists some fun facts.

Continuity[]

This episode marks the first appearance of the blue Dathomir bird.

Galaxy of Creatures small logo Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures — "Porgs" features porgs on Batuu, a species that Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge establishes were not present on the planet Batuu until the Resistance brought them there between the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Therefore, porgs must have been introduced to Batuu between those stories, which corresponds to 34 ABY per this reasoning, meaning that the events of Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures take place during or after 34 ABY.
