Parang Squad was a squad of Sith Jetpack Troopers of the Sith Eternal army among the military of the Sith Eternal, a dark side Sith cult. The squad was active during the First Order-Resistance War until the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, where the Sith Eternal was confronted and destroyed by the Resistance and individuals who rose up all over the galaxy to assemble the Citizens' Fleet. The squad was named after the parang weapon.

Description[]

SithJetpackTrooper-TROSFOV

Parang Squad was comprised of ten Sith Jetpack Troopers (pictured).

Parang Squad was an aerial infantry squad in the army of the dark side cult known as the Sith Eternal. As a part of the Sith Eternal's army, the squad was based on the cult's[1] throneworld,[3] the Unknown Regions planet Exegol. Like each Sith Jetpack Trooper squad in the army, Parang Squad's name honored an ancient, highly destructive dark side weapon[4]—the parang.[1]

Parang Squad consisted of ten Sith Jetpack Troopers—a specialized variant of the cult's main soldier, the Sith trooper.[1] As it was comprised of these soldiers, the squad wore a variant of the crimson Sith trooper armor and was outfitted with NJP-900 integrated jetpacks and armed with F-11ABA heavy blaster cannons .[1]

History[]

Parang Squad was active during the First Order-Resistance War[1] that took place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY. In 35 ABY,[2] the Sith Eternal battled an allied force consisting of the Resistance and the Citizens' Fleet, a fleet made up of citizens who rose up from all over the galaxy, in the Battle of Exegol. The battle marked the end of Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious and the Sith Eternal,[5] including Parang Squad.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Parang Squad was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was released in 2019 and authored by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
