Jayd was a Kexing who served as an aide of the Nihil Minister of Information Ghirra Starros. Starros considered Jayd to be her best aide. When the minister held a meeting of the Nihil ministries aboard the Gaze Electric, the flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro,[1] in 228 BBY,[2] Jayd accompanied Starros. Once the meeting was finished, Starros was about to tell the Kexing that she wanted to go directly to her cruiser, the Pearl of Faretta, rather than to the Nihil main base on[1] the Outer Rim planet[3] Hetzal, but was interrupted by the arrival of the Nihil spy Nan.[1]
Later, after the minister purchased ten floors of a cloudscaper on[1] the Core Worlds planet[3] Coruscant, Jayd was with her. When Ghirra's daughter Avon visited her mother in an attempt to persuade her to reveal Ro's location to the Jedi Order, Ghirra had Jayd bring some lompop flower jelly to be served. Once the Kexing brought the jelly, the minister allowed the aide to take one. When Ghirra later visited a Coruscant café, Jayd and several other attendants accompanied her, remaining nearby as a precaution.[1]
