The Wisps[1] are creatures that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are a species of small aliens from another reality.
Description[]
Anatomy[]
The Wisps' anatomy resembles that of underwater cephalopods such as squids. Common physical characteristics amongst all Wisp include a small "head" with three tentacles beneath it. Their skin color, body shape and number of eyes (ranging from none to three) is determined by their breed. Also, Wisps do not get much taller than half a meter.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
The Cyan Laser, a state achieved by harnassing the energy of a Cyan Wisp, from Sonic the Hedgehog #219.
All Wisps are capable of flight. They also contain a special energy that can be used as fuel. They can also phase into the bodies of other organical beings and lent a fraction of their energy to others, thereby granting them a unique, yet temporary, transformation.[1]

When Dr. Eggman seized their home planet and turned it into an interstellar amusement park, several Wisps were captured and turned into a source of power for the park. When Sonic and Tails showed up to investigate, they were informed of Eggman's sinister actions by a curly-haired White Wisp named Yacker. With help from the Wisps and their special powers, Sonic and Tails set off on a new adventure to liberate the Wisps and their planet.[1]
