The Veg-O-Fortress[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a base built by Dr. Ivo Robotnik on top of Mount Mobius.
Description[]
The Veg-O-Fortress is a volcanic base that covers most, if not all, of Mount Mobius. It is surrounded by a sea of lava, and is full of pinball-based obstacles and gimmicks. The fortress is decorated by some mechanical parts. Dr. Ivo Robotnik's face is also sculpted on the volcano.[1]
History[]
The Spin Doctor[]
Dr. Ivo Robotnik eventually built the Veg-O-Fortress on top of Mount Mobius in order to set up his evil schemes of roboticizing the inhabitants of Mobius. Eventually, he lured Sonic the Hedgehog to the fortress. Sonic entered the fortress and went through the Toxic Caves, only to be attacked by Scorpius and Rexxon, though he managed to take them down easily. Afterward, he traveled to Lava Powerhouse in a minecart inside the fortress. There, he met Hip and Hop. However, he was soon after kicked out of the Veg-O-Fortress by a Spring. Fortunately, he was saved by Tails. Afterward, Sonic swore that he would come back someday.[1]
Destruction[]
Some time later, the Veg-O-Fortress would later be destroyed by an unknown source.[note 1]

Trivia[]
- The Veg-O-Fortress is based on the location of the same name from Sonic Spinball.
Notes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Although the ultimate fate of the Veg-O-Fortress is unknown, when Mount Mobius is seen again in Sonic the Hedgehog #87, the Veg-O-Fortress is absent, implying it was destroyed at some point. Sonic Super Digest #1 also explicitly confirms that the Mount Mobius seen in #87 is the same location from #6.
