Tony Jay (2 February 1933 - 13 August 2006) was an British-American actor and voice actor known for his roles in theatre, radio, film, animation and video games.
History[]
Born in London, England, Jay attended Pinner County Grammar School and completed his National Service with the Royal Air Force in 1953. He is known for his distinctive baritone voice, which often lead to him being cast as villains. Jay's most famous roles are Judge Claude Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Megabyte from the seminal computer animated series ReBoot. He also made distinguished appearances in live action television such as Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Twin Peaks, The Golden Girls, and Night Court. Jay has also voice characters from popular video game series such as Fallout, Legacy of Kain, and King's Quest.
Jay died from complications following lung surgery on August 13, 2006 at the age of 73.
