Must we? She is the royal wizard, after all.

— Sir Gawain, from Sonic the Hedgehog #197.

Sir Gawain[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics. He is a Mobian echidna and the alternate counterpart of Knuckles the Echidna. He serves as a knight in the service of King Arthur alongside the Knights of the Round Table in a distant Zone connected to In Another Time, In Another Place's reality.

Appearance[]

History[]

Knight Time[]

As Gawain and the Knights of the Round Table saw King Arthur lose Sonic the Hedgehog and Merlina, the trio of knights were ordered by Arthur to search for Merlina and Sonic and slay them. After Arthur left, Gawain voiced his objections to their orders, as Merlina was the royal wizard. Lancelot and Percival, however, reminded him of the importance of obeying their king, and Gawain went on his mission.[2]

Personality[]

A strong believer in honor, Sir Gawain is devoted to his duty of serving King Arthur. At the same time though, his loyalty to his duty is not unshakable as he would question his king's amoral orders.[2]
