The Robot Battle Royale is an event that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a robot fighting tournament hosted by the Village on Seaside Island.

The Robot Battle Royale is a robot fighting tournament where both amateur and professional inventors can compete against each other using self-made robots in outright death matches. Mayor Fink serves as the host and overseer.[1]
Rules[]
In the Robot Battle Royale, eight participants compete one-on-one in a single-elimination tournament bracket. Each participant fight each other using one robot of their own. A robot which is unable to fight or knocked out of the ring is considered eliminated, and the owner of the robot of that robot will be eliminated from the tournament while the winner of the clash will advance further. The rules are that anything goes, so any trick is allowed. However, contestants have to hand in their robots' override codes to avoid unfair advantages (although this does not prohibit usage of them).[1]

When the Robot Battle Royale was held for the Village to see, Dr. Eggman and his miniature Obliterator Bot, Tails and Hypnobot, and amateur inventor Knuckles and his Vacuu-Fan 2000 joined the competition. Knuckles in particular joined the Robot Battle Royale to himself as an inventor with his robot while Tails joined to teach Knuckles a lesson after he arrogantly boasted about being the superior inventor. While Knuckles quickly lost during the first round, Tails and Eggman got to the finals, where Eggman won unfairly by using Hypnobot's stolen override code to make Hypnobot stop working, thereby allowing Eggman's robot to easily defeat it. Eggman then left to use Hypnobot's abilities to seize control of Tails' other inventions.[1]
