Mortail is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is a fictional counterpart of Tails from a story that Sally Acorn told Tails.
Appearance[]
Mortail exactly resembles Tails, but he wears a red hat, red tunic, and red shoes.
History[]
Tails' Knighttime Story![]
Sir Runalot was a famous and powerful knight on Mobius, and Mortail was his page, often assisting him in his heroics. However, due to the popularity of Sir Runalot, Mortail grew jealous of Sir Runalot, and eventually, while Sir Runalot was away on vacation Mortail decieded to wear Sir Runalot's armor for himself. This eventually led to him getting in trouble when fighting against Sir Knightmare, only for Sir Runalot to show up and rescue Mortail.[1]
Personality[]
Like Tails with Sonic, Mortail admires Sir Runalot, but unlike Tails, he expressed jealousy of Sir Runalot's popularity over himself.
Trivia[]
- A different Arthurian-inspired version of Tails, the Blacksmith, would be introduced nearly 14 years later in Sonic and the Black Knight.
