The Ancient Relics are a location that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. It is an abandoned city located in the Land of Darkness.

Description[]

The Ancient Relics are modern metropolis in ruins. Most of its buildings and roads are in an abandoned and broken state, and there is gray fog covering most the area. Many of the structures also have green flora growing over them, such as large vines and moss. Much of the underground is also unstable, with much of the city having slowly sunk into the sea. There are also many dark gray clouds covering the sky, preventing most sunshine from reaching the city.

Sonic and Tails arrived in the Ancient Relics after making their way through the Warp Zone. There, they were attacked by Metal Robotnik, a mech piloted by Dr. Robotnik and Sara. After a long chase and a grueling battle across the Ancient Relics, the doctor was about to kill the heroes. However, Knuckles the Echidna saved Sonic and Tails at last moment and destroyed the mech. Afterward, the trio went to Robotropolis, which was located nearby.
