I Hope You Know

Less Is More #470 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card with a butterfly theme.

To create my card, I used one of the Polka Dot stencil from
SSS Simple Patterns Trio Stencils with DO ink to create my background. I added 2 hot foiled butterflies from PinkFresh Studio Small Butterflies hot foil plate. As I so often do, I forgot to put the card stock in foiling sandwich, so the beautiful butterflies were foiled to the plate. Oh no, not again! But never fear - PinkFresh Solid Hot Foil plate to the rescue! I just used the piece of foil that I used for the butterflies with the solid plate and got these beautiful butterflies in reverse. I added a SSS Reverse Sentiment Strip and my card was complete.

My Heart Can Always Be Found By The Sea

Time Out #219 begins today. This time it's a Photo Challenge.

The challenge runs from Thursday, July 28th  to Wednesday, August 10th. We are generously sponsored by Varada Sharma who sells digital stamps and cut files in her shop HERE. She is offering a prize of two $15.00 gift vouchers: one randomly drawn prize and one for the winner chosen by the Design Team.

My card was created with supplies from various companies.I started by blending a variety of Distress Oxide Inks to create the water and sky. I splattered the sea portion with water and dabbed it with a paper towel. I stamped one of the images from Chocolate Baroque's Seaside Dreams with Versa Claire Nocturne Ink on the bottom (in the water), and the sailboat and flock of birds from the Hero Arts June 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit on the horizon and in the sky. The scalloped frame is from Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Scalloped Frames, and the sentiment is from Picket Fence Studio's Mermaids of the Sea, heat embossed with white EP.

The Ocean Will Set Your Soul Free

CYHTP July 23 - August 10 - Beach

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Beach".

Although my scene is not a "beach" scene per se, when I go to the beach, I go to the ocean. So here we are! I have the good fortune of having the ability to go to the beach pretty much whenever I want, and I do this frequently. There's no place I'd rather be.

To create my card,  I used a Kraft card base. I debossed using Ink on 3 Fleurette's ~ Atelier Ink - Shark Tooth White ink, Catherine Pooler Ocean Buddies stamps and dies colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studio's Swim In The Sea stamp set.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Something Wicked This Way Comes

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by International Owl Awareness Day which takes place on August 4th. International Owl Awareness Day raises awareness about our beloved nocturnal raptors. Owls have long captivated us with their mystery and perceived wisdom, but their representation in pop culture media, folklore and material possessions does not always do these magical creatures justice. Read more HERE.

The challenge runs from July 22nd - August 1st.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For my owl-themed card, I created a scene using: Halloween Magic by Julie Ebersole, Essentials by Ellen Stamps and Birch Trees Cover Plate by Julie Ebersole, Essentials By Ellen Designer Dies. Papers: SU Basic Gray, Gina K Ebony Black, Memory Box Delicate Pastel 6x6 Glitter Pad, Neenah Solar White 110# Card Stock, SU Cast A Spell DSP (Retired). Other supplies: Copic Markers, SU 1 3/4" Circle Punch, A Colorful Life Design Circle Edger Stencil, Ink on 3 Fleurette's ~ Atelier Ink - Shark Tooth White, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Windsor & Newton Designers Gouache, SSS Sentiment Strips Halloween, Tim Holtz Distress Splatter Brush.

I used owl, feathers, book, texture, woodland and brown from the Inspo List.

To create my card, I stamped the Mistletoe & Holly image from the CAS-ual Fridays stamp set of the same name. I colored it with Copics and Wink Of Stella. I die cut the bow in red glitter paper from the matching dies and glued it to the image. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. You're Tops In My Book

Welcome Summer

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Summer". The challenge runs from juy 9th to July 20th.

To create my card, I used a panel that I had in my stash. It was created with a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations EF. I used lots of golden shimmery spray to make is super sunny, but I must admit it was a while ago, so I can't say exactly how it was made and with what supplies. The Summer die cut and background is from Neat & Tangled. The "welcome" is from Winnie & Walter, and the die cut strip from Pink & Main.

Global Tiger Day

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by Global Tiger Day which takes place on July 29th. Wild tiger numbers have dropped by more than 95% since the beginning of the 20th century. Tigers can be found in isolated forests and grasslands throughout Asia. Their habitat is wide ranging – from evergreen and monsoon forests, to mixed coniferous-deciduous woodlands, and mangrove swamps. There are estimated to be around 3,900 tigers in the wild.

The challenge runs from July 8th - July 18th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. I had the purr-fect supplies in my stash for this. All products that I used in creating this card are from Hero Arts. I punched a circle from masking paper to ink the sun. I then masked the sun with that circle so that I could ink blend the rest of the background with various Distress Oxide Inks. I used embossing paste with the Hero Arts Tribal Shapes Stencil on Kraft card stock for some texture and interest, added that panel to the left side of my card and glued the distress ink panel to the right of it. I die cut the grass and tree with the Hero Arts Thorn Tree and Grasses Fancy Dies and glued them onto my blended panel. I then stamped and die cut my tigers using Hero Arts Color Layering Bengal Tigers. I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Safari Huge Thanks stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black and heat embossed it with clear EP. I glued the inked and stenciled panels on to a piece of black Gina K black card stock, and my card was complete.

I used tigers, stripes, orange, black & fur from the Inspo list.

Love

Less Is More #468 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card with embossing.

To create my card, I dry embossed a card base of 110# Neenah Solar White card stock with Anna Griffin's Regal Braid 1"x7" EF from Cricut Cuttlebug. I then die cut my sentiment from a sandwich of black mirror card stock, Stick It and fun foam using the Paper Smooches Love Word die. I glued the sentiment onto my card base and my card was complete. I needed a wedding card and this fits the bill perfectly.
