Mrinal Sen

Indian film director (1923–2018)

Mrinal Sen (also spelled Mrinal Shen, 14 May 1923 – 30 December 2018) was an Indian filmmaker. He was born in Kolkata. He was thought to be one of the greatest ambassadors of Indian parallel cinema on the global stage.[1] His works was known for its artistic depiction of social reality.

Sen died on 30 December 2018 in Kolkata, West Bengal at the age of 95.[2][3] The cause was a heart attack.[4]
