Another View Inside My Beach Album

One day our family went to Balboa to the arcade to play ski ball and other fun games. My son found this one game that was giving away extra tickets, so of course everybody had to play. He was so excited because he had plenty enough tickets to get these cheap aviator sunglasses. As you can see from the photos the layouts are still quite simple. I did get creative and I punched a tiny half circle out of both ends of each letter to mimic the game tickets. Pretty cool!

Inside My Beach Album

My design approach for this album is simple. I am including my favorite photos adhered right to the pages, a stamped title, and a few embellishments. When I make minibooks and albums I allow a list of supplies which I don't stray from. This obviously creates a cohesive look, but it also generates creativity. My color palette comes directly from the Hawaiian Papaya DSP and because of the perfect coordination that SU! provides my inks and embellishments are a great match. I have also used the Greatest Moments and Anchored rub ons to add extra bits of journaling and titles. I really like combining and layering rub ons. Enjoy!

Front & Inside Cover

While at the beach house I worked on an album made especially for the occasion. I have an HP Personal Photo Printer that is AWESOME! With that and a few supplies I went to work on the album while there at the beach. The photos above are of the front and the inside cover. I used the plastic page dividers from Stampin' Up! as well as the Hawaiian Papaya DSP, the Greatest Moments rub ons, and Loads of Letters chipboard. One thing I have also used throughout the book is the retired stamp set Stencil Alphabet. It is the perfect size and look for my book. I don't hold onto all of my retired stamp sets, but I do keep a few alphabets here and there. I definitely keep them for ongoing albums I am working on. Come back in a few days for a look at some of the pages.

Check out my Adventure

While in Southern California we spent a day at Disney's California Adventure. I had never been there before and it was so exciting to experience new rides that I had no clue as to what they were all about. The Tower of Terror was too much fun. In typical Disney fashion the park was very clean and there was lots to see. I made this quick ATC album of our day. The cover was a complete replication of the park's entrance. For Halloween they added candy corn to everything. They were even hanging high up in palm trees. They pay great attention to the details. I used the Ghostly Greetings DSP on the cover as well as the Big Deal Alphabet and Tasty Sweet stamp sets, the Anchored rub ons, and Fire & Ice bling (removed from their silver dohicky).  As always all supplies were from SU!

Playing with Trinkets

I have made a few projects using the On Board Trinkets Ornaments from the Holiday Mini Catalog. My plan is to use these as gift tags on bags and cookie plates. I don't think I will hang them on my Christmas tree as I think giving them a dual purpose as a tag and keepsake for the receiver is a better idea. For both of these ornaments I popped the center pieces of one design, covered them with the precut DSP, glued them to a larger ornament, and then added GLITTER. To add the Chunky Essentials clear glitter I coated the front with Crystal Effects first. Look for more ideas soon using this awesome new kit from Stampin' Up! Come to my November Santa Stampin' Extravaganza and make some for yourself.

AWESOME STAMP SET

These cards feature an amazing new silhouette style stamp set called Upsy Daisy. All of these cards were designed and made by another swappin' friend named Deb B. I love my swap group as I collect cards from all over. Enjoy these samples and as always you can find all supplies in the 2008 Fall-Winter Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.

Deck the Halls

with boughs of holly...

These cards were made for the swap group of which I am a part. I send cards to eight fellow Stampin Up! demonstrators in California, Iowa, and Qatar. I royally blew it this time and used a retired alphabet set on one card. Not only did I use a retired set, but the total dollar amount to make the card exceeds $305! I usually try to keep the amount a stamps and accessories to a minimum to make the card a bit more doable. As always all supplies are from Stampin' Up!

Cheers!

Well here it is--a picture of the third garland from my class. This garland was made with the Parisian Summer designer series papers and the Big Shot. For each garland we used a different color from the Chunky Essentials Glitter pack. For this garland we covered Pale Plum cardstock letters with the clear chunky glitter. The bling at the bottom of each letter panel is from the Fire and Ice circle brads. Each has been removed from the silver piece and glued on with a glue dot.

Made by My Mom

I needed some samples for my Halloween Hangings class, but I had no time. Mom's always come to the rescue. Mine stamped a bunch just in time for the class. I especially like the card with the clear button. If you look close you will notice the holes of the button are perfectly placed over the eyes of the skull. As always all supplies comem from the Stampin' Up! catalog.

Holiday Mini Halloween Cards

These cards all feature the stamp set Halloween Frights and Fence from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Each was stamped by one of my fellow swappin' friends, Chari B. She always makes the best cards. I particularly love the fancy clip nestled in the circle punch out of the fence card. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!
