I made this cute little purse at retreat and then last night made a Ghastlie coin purse as well.  One cannot have too many Ghastlies!

Sunday WIP

I only played nine holes of golf this morning.  It was a bit cloudy, but no rain.  I needed to get some grocery shopping done.

I have been working on my Chippewa quilt and am a little over half finished.  Really, there are just four more rows.  I still need nine, nine patches but all the other blocks are ready.

I also took pictures of my "Pumpkin Pie Mold".  Today, I bought an "Apple Pie Mold", and a "Heart Pie Mold".  I should tell you that the molds are from Williams Sonoma originally.

My knee is killing me so I am quitting for the day.  I need to peel some potatoes to go with a roast that is in the crock pot.

Saturday Thoughts--no pics

Yes, it sprinkled for all 18 holes of golf.  I surprised my group by staying!  LOL.  After golf, I went to Ramona's house (I met her at the quilt retreat and found out that she lives on the golf course where I play).  We sewed and chit chatted for a couple of hours and enjoyed ourselves.  I did get six of my nine nine patches sewn together--only six more to sew and I can sew my quilt together.  Yeah!

When I got home I made some little cherry pies with my pumpkin mold.  I know, WHAT!  One of the demos at the retreat was using pumpkin and apple molds from William Sonoma.  You roll pie dough, use the mold to cut the shape and them stuff with filling and bake.  I didn't have any pumpkin to mix up, so I used cherry pie filling.  They were yummy with a little ice cream.

Although the Seahawk game is on at 10 am, I will probably go play golf tomorrow and then come home and sew.

Catch you later.

WIP CHIPPEWA

I have been sewing since about 7 am this morning and I am ready to pack it in for the day.  But, first, my progress with my Chippewa quilt.

Stack of Snowball Blocks

Two Stacks of Setting Triangles

Stack of all my cut corners (will make  a table topper later!)

This picture doesn't show it very well, but this is the first completed row.  There are four snowball blocks and five nine nine patch blocks!

It is sprinkling outside, so I don't know about golfing tomorrow.  Maybe I can get this quilt finished by Sunday afternoon?!

"Bounce" Fini

I wanted to finish this before I left for my quilt retreat.  Just remind me to send it to Sinta in time for the parade!  (I forgot last month to send it!!)  It was sunny and windy when I took the pictures so DH helped me out!

I finally decided on the project to take to retreat.  Minick & Simpson's "Chippewa Nine Patch".  I have had the kit for a few years and NOW IS THE TIME!!

Bounce Flimsy

I am on vacation and getting ready to head to McCall, Idaho to attend Corrie Munson's quilt retreat.  My sister will be here tomorrow and then we will leave Wednesday morning.  After cleaning the downstairs bathroom and bedroom, I finished up my Bounce flimsy.  I like the pieced border between the solids.  No, your eyes are not goofy, the blocks are all cut at different angles!  I still haven't figured out how to solve the shade difference of the background colors.  Any suggestions?!

I am making Patti LaBelle's mac and cheese with chicken for supper.  I might even make a dessert!

Construction Zone October 2012

The group decided to make two blocks a month and post them on the 15th of the month.  I made mine with a bit of a fall color scheme.  I have to say, that I like these two houses!

Bounce 2

Yesterday afternoon after golf (the day turned out beautiful, sunny and warm), I finished the 25 blocks of my "Bounce" quilt.  Somehow, it looks as if I have two different shades of my background.  How can I fix this??  Tea dye?

I think that right now, the quilt looks a little BLAH!  After golf today, I will finish up the borders and maybe then it will POP?!

WIP Saturday

Thursday evening, I was trying to figure out what I was going to work on this Friday after I got my chores finished.  I have a few UFOs but decided to work on this month's Schnibbles, "Bounce".  I found 14 fat quarters of Riley Blake's "Sweet Divinity" in my stash.  I am making version 1, which is scrappier than v2.  I think that I am going to make my quilt five across and five down.  Just a tad smaller than v1.

Neat piles of cut pieces

Messy piles of sewn peices

Design Wall (two rows of five blocks)
Fall is finally here and I am off to play golf in the gloomy outdoors!

Have I mentioned that my sister and I are going to Quilt Taffy's retreat next week.  It is being held in McCall, Idaho.  I can't decide what to take, UFOs or a new project.

It is downstairs, ready to be quilted!

Haley's Refurbished Quilt

In 2007, I made my cousin's grandchildren quilts.  The oldest granddaughter, now 16, takes her blankie every where.  When I was down last September, I did a minor repair.  But, this year, OMG it was a major rebuild.  Besides the wear, the cat had chewed a couple of holes in it!  I got the quilt in the mail Monday.  Mon-Thurs evenings I ripped all of the quilting out.  This morning I cut new blocks to replace the bad ones, and then this afternoon quilted it,

Tomorrow, I will sew the binding on and get it in the mail before Haley has a melt down!  LOL  Love you Haley!
