Happy Halloween

Halloween will finally be here tomorrow! After a month full of fun Halloween projects I have one final project to share with you using "Scarecrow and Jack" & "Happy Halloween".

I colored the image with copic markers. Once the image was colored it was a quick & easy card to put together. I hope you enjoyed my sample and that you have a fun, happy, and safe Halloween!

A computer was used for printing the sentiment. I wanted to make sure I printed the line of the song correctly so I did a computer search and found that all these years I’ve been singing woods not wood, it just sounds better! What you see are the correct lyrics form the 1800’s poem turned song.

I thought for modern day the truck would be fitting for the lyrics and decided to play out that one line of the song on my card front!

-The hills, road and river are torn paper glued to the card. Speckles were added to the road with a plastic stipple brush and Memento black ink to resemble gravel. The card base was also stippled.

-The clouds were sponged using an acetate template.

-Stitching was done with a sewing machine and the threads were pulled through to the back and taped down.

-The EK Success trees were punched out, embossed with the Cuttlebug Herringbone folder and sponged with green ink then glued to the card.

-The truck is stamped with Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and paper stumps using the Gamsol technique. Baby oil replaces the Gamsol/mineral spirits.

-3mm silver brads were added to the truck wheels for hub caps and Diamond Glaze for the headlights.

-The exhaust and antennae of the image was colored with a Marvy black marker and stamped on the card. The cut out truck was matched up to the stamped images and it’s popped up with foam tape.

Ewe's Just Fluffy

Hi there. I hope you all enjoyed our blog hop this past weekend. Aren't the ladies on this team awesome???!!! They are just sooo talented. Today I wanted to share a "non-fall" card with you. Actually it is almost a spring type card...which seems sooo far off. I just thought this image and the sentiment were very funny.

I used the Old Ram image and the sentiment is called Ewe's Fluffy. I stamped the ram and fussy cut him. I added some white flocking to his body, and colored the rest of him with maker. The sentiment I stamped in blue ink, and trimmed the paper to look like a cloud in the sky. I added some liquid applique to make the cloud fluffy too. I layered the cloud onto the sky PP. For the "field", I first sponged green onto the background. Next, I added some green flower soft to look like grass. I also added some yellow and pink flower soft to look like flowers in the field. I thought this would be a cute pick me up card for a friend, or just a general "Hello" card. Mostly I thought it was funny...lol. Thanks for stopping by today!

Scarecrow Jack and Dawn again-Stopping by To Say Hello!

Oh yes fall is just beautiful with all the color changes and crisp air. Do you enjoy fall in your area?

How about this fun scarecrow? Love the fall colors to make this image pop. Used my h20's again to color this rubber stamped image- it is also available in digital.
This background paper is retired from Close to My Heart, card stock also from CTMH.
Embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture.Cut some of the card stock with Spellbinder shapes for the background.
Used this vine ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, it is available in several colors.
Do you believe I used some more flowers from Micheal's I bought in the clearance bin?
I fussy cut and pop dotted the image - even separated the leaves and pop dotted them.

Hunting Turkey

For today's card I chose the subject Hunting Turkey. I like this stamp very well and I find it very funny.

Here in Germany we haven't Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to handle this subject.
For the sentiment I decided me to "Good Luck" for the turkey hunting ;-)
This card I will send someone to whom I wish you luck.
With the help of my Big Shot and my punches was this card quite quickly ready.

Happy Harvest!

Autumn is starting to wind down in my neck of the woods. The mornings are getting so cool that we need to wear hats and mittens and it might not be too early for winter jackets! But there are still some beautiful trees and there are still some signs of fall, so today I am posting a fall card!

I love this little guy from QKR Stampede. The stamp is simply called Scarecrow. It really allows for all sorts of great fall projects!

Well, I am off to embrace the chill of the morning. Perhaps my next card will feature...dare I say it...a snowman? Ahhhh!

Scarecrow & Jack

I hope your weekend is off to a terrific start! This is Kristine and I have a fun fall card to share with you today. I used "Scarecrow and Jack" and "Happy Halloween" from QKR Stampede.

I just love how proud Mr. Scarecrow is of his Jack-o-Lantern. I think we all know that feeling of pride when our Jack-o-Lantern turns out well!

The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's "Matilda" pack and I colored the image with Copic markers.

I hope this card gets you in a fall mood.

A Frosty Reminder

Here’s a card to remind us that fall isn’t always about color. It is so pretty to wake up to the white frost the cold night has forced upon us, pretty but not so nice for the tender plant life.

I hope you enjoy the frosty fall card that is very quick to create.

Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and paper stumps were used to color the Small Pumpkin image using the Gamsol technique. Baby oil replaces the Gamsol/mineral spirits.

The image panel and border layers were cut using the petite Nestablitlies from Spellbinder.

Ink distressing was done on the rust layers using Ranger: Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a sponge.

The stitching was done through the top two layers only using a sewing machine. One straight stitch across the top and bottom of the panel then the threads were pulled to the back and taped down with one sided tape and the loose ends timmed off.

Stampin Up mat pack and Bazzill piercer were used for the Making Memories brad placement.

Thanksgiving Place Cards

In today's post I'm showing you some place cards to be used for Thanksgiving. They were all stamped onto white card stock with Versafine Black Onyx ink then colored with watercolor crayons.

All three of these images are from QKR Stampede.

The "I'm thankful for..." and the names were printed from my computer, then the image was stamped and colored.

This first one I used the beautiful Rose Label which measures 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" I have this image mounted onto dark brown card stock.

For this Second place card I used the Thanksgiving Feast stamp which measures 2" x 2" I mounted this one on a gold colored card stock.

This third place card was made with the Leaf stamp, which measures 3" x 2" and is one of my favorite fall themed stamps. Although it could be as easily colored green and used for a spring or summer purpose. This one is mounted onto rust card stock.

Here is a picture of the three of them together. Although they are different sizes, I think they would look beautiful on any Thanksgiving table. Variety is the spice of life you know.

Pine Sprig

This card features the stamp Pine Sprig (15702).

I had fun with this image!

I like using non-traditonal colors every now and then.

The background paper is from Three Bugs in a Rug.

For this card I stamped the image in black, then added color with colored pencil.

The bells are colored with a silver pen.

A little bit of glitter chalk brightens up the background.

Turkey Time

Not only is fall my favorite time of year, but Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the no pressure, no hassle feeling to the holiday.

Today, my card uses QKR Stampede's Thanksgiving Feast (see digi version here).

This is called a "tent" card. Just make a smaller base card and then add stamped shaped image to the top to fill the length of the card. This will fit into a regular shaped envelope like you mail bills in.

Fall Thanks

Hello QKR friends! We are well into the Fall season . . . the leaves are turning, giving us a splendid show of color. I can't help but think how nice it is to have note cards on hand that go with each season. My project today is just that -- a simple note card that uses the Leaf (#3901) and Thank You (#16620) stamps by QKR Stampede. The note card is gold embossed around the edge, and I simply stamped the Leaf image around the perimeter after inking with my Kaleidacolor ink pad. Thank You was stamped using Rich Cocoa ink by Memento.

I love the fact that the openness of the Leaf image doesn't overpower the Thank You sentiment. I hope you are enjoying the wonderful Fall weather and a terrific display of colors in your neck of the woods. I will have more examples of this Leaf image at the Blog Hop this Friday. Fall Leaves and Happy Birthday

It is a beautiful fall day here in the Buffalo, NY area. Sunny and about 60 degrees. Personally, I'd like it about 10 degrees warmer, but in this area it would be a little unseasonable, but that would be fine with me. It has been gorgeous though, let's hope it continues.

Today I'm showing you a birthday card. I love this leaf image (also available in digi form) from QKR Stampede and have been playing with it a lot. I have a huge stash of scraps, so I went to my scraps and found some fall colors, stamped the image onto them and cut the squares. I then attached them to a piece of cream colored card stock. I don't often ink edges, but in this case I thought it helped to soften the over all look.

I stamped the Happy Birthday with a stamp from the Happy Birthday set from QKR. This is a great set as it includes 4 different sentiments. I used the same scraps for the sentiment and it's layers, then attached it.

I found this orange "ribbon" in my stash and attached it to the card stock and then attached the whole thing with foam tape to a piece of brown card stock, again from that scrap stash.

You can see below that I used another piece of ivory card stock with inked edges on the inside.

Harvest Blessings

Hi my name is Lorraine and I am one of the new DT for QKR Stampede, this is my very first posting and I am both excited and proud to be showing just one of the many images available for QKR Stampede.

I fell in love with this image as soon as I saw it it brought back so many wonderful childhood memories for me.

The image is of Corn Stalks which I have coloured with Copics, I added the chorus of 'Bringing in the Sheaves' which is a Harvest Festival song that we used to sing to celebrate this day.

I used a DL white card base the papers are Basic Grey, I mounted the image onto bronze mirror card then added a button with some raffia, I used card candy and made a replica sheath of corn stalks also made from raffia.

I will be back with another project but in the mean time I hope you have enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you all soon.

Go TEAM!!!!

Hi there! Jessica here with you today. I hope you have been enjoying all the eye candy from our newest DT members, I know I have! Be sure to keep checking back, and make sure you stop by next Friday October 22nd for our first blog hop with the new team. We will be sharing some of the wonderful fall and Thanksgiving images from the QKR Stampede store. Today I wanted to share a card with you using the Football Snowman stamp. Fall in our house means football...well for my husband at least =). Every Sunday that is all that is on the TV all afternoon. I like to take advantage of that time to stamp...lol. Here is the card I came up with.

I colored the snowman in red and blue marker...which is actually my NFL teams colors...but I am kinda embarrassed to tell you which team. They are NOT doing well...it is very sad...lol. I used this paper that I had in my stash, and thought it was cute for a football image, and matched my colors. The sentiment is a rub-on, and I ink distressed the edges of that papers. I also added some stickles to the snowflakes.

Step Card With Three Fun Fall Characters

Hi everyone Dawn here with my very first post at QKR Stampede
I was so excited when Maribeth asked me to join the team. My friend Chrissy was so wonderful to tell me about this wonderful stamp company.

How about a stair step card to start out with, using some fun fall cuties.

Wanted to share one of the first cards I made with three different stamps I received and some I borrowed from Chrissy- she use to be the coordinator for QKR Stampede.

All images were painted with H20's- It has been some time since I have used these fun paints.
I wish I could show how shimmery these really are.
The great orange twine is from Really Reasonable Ribbon- one of my favorite places to get various ribbons and fibers.
I used raffia to look like cornstalks.

Autumn Friends

Hello everyone.

I love this time of year. Not because it is wet and cold outside, but because the leaves look so beautiful and because it is the time for pumpkins.
I like pumpkins every which way to eat and I enjoy the time.
For this reason, I have created my first work for QKR-Stampede with a pumpkin design.
I decided me for the stamp Autumn Friends.
Halloween is celebrated in Germany since a few years, it is not yet so popular here, and we don't ship cards with halloween images. Therefore, I have not written under the card "Happy halloween", but "Thank you for your friendship". I think, this is ok for the picture.
I colored the image with watercolor pencils, that were wiped with baby oil.
The background I created with papers by Bearly Mines designs, text stamp is from Stampin Up!

Harvest Dudes

My husband and I just celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary this past Saturday. It is hard to believe that it has been that long, it feels like just yesterday we were tying the knot. The Thanksgiving weekend was a perfect time to get married - so all of the out of town guests would have a long weekend. We also chose that weekend because that is when the leaves are at their peak in colour, so we knew we'd have amazing photos. As it turned out, the leaves that year were disappointing! They were green and brown and that was about it.

Despite the lack of fall foilage, we had a beautiful fall themed wedding, and at the reception hall our main decoration were two spring dolls that would bounce whenever you touched them. They were so cute! We had them up until this past spring, when they suffered a lot of water damage and had to be thrown out. I made this card with the Autumn Friends stamp, which reminds me of our little "harvest dudes" as we called them.

Now the memories we made surrounding our harvest dudes can be preserved in this stamp from QKR Stampede forever! That might sound corny to you, but it really is true!

Something to Crow About

Hi all!

This is Kristine and it's my first post here as a new QKR Stampede design team member. I am so excited to be a part of the team and thrilled to get to bring you new projects which I hope will inspire you to get stamping!

Today I have two cards to share that I made with "Prize Pumpkin" and "Something to Crow About" from QKR Stampede.

The plaid paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Matilda pack and the image was colored with Copic markers. The leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart's, "Oak Leaf" punch.

The plaid paper on this card is from DCWV's, Animal Cracker's matstack. The border punch is Martha Stewart's "Arch Latice".

A Fall Drive

The best part of fall is a drive through the crisp air to take in all the colors of the season or make a card depicting it!

I used a Marvy black marker to add the highway, birds and stamp the exhaust and antennae of the truck (14508 truck) image on the cardstock. The car and landscape were colored with Prismacolor pencils and after cutting the car out it was mounted on foam squares. The sky was created with my handmade cloud template and sponging. Aleene’s tacky glue was the adhesive used to attach the EK Success punched tree and Flower Soft (Autumn).

I enjoy giving the mail person a sneak peek of what’s inside the card and recipient gets a little added treat with the punched leaves on the inside.

Kristie's first Design Team post.

Hello All! This is my first posting as a new QKR Stampede Design Team member and I am thrilled to be here. I will be posting on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, as well as posting on my blog on a regular basis. I'd love for you to stop by and see what I have to share on my blog too.

I made this card using the adorable Happy Tummy stamp from QKR Stampede. When I saw this little guy I knew I would love creating a card with him. I stamped the image onto white cardstock with Onyx Black Versafine ink. I love using this ink, as it is waterproof and I can use my watercolor crayons to color the image. I then stamped it with Red Whispers ink and cut out the top and bottom of the apple, this part was adhered to the image once I had 'fussy' cut around the entire image.

I used my SCAL2 program and my Cricut Expressions to create and cut the apple shaped card, then adhered the cut out image to the front of the card with foam tape to give it a little dimension.

The 'Celebrate' that I added to the front of the card is from Forever in Time Vintage Classics Rub-Ons.

The white dash lines were done with an Ultimate Gel Pen.

For the inside of this card I cut a smaller apple on my Expressions, then printed the sentiment from my computer. This was adhered to the inside of the card with my ATG tape gun.

Get ready to bundle up!

Hello Friends ~ Happy Wednesday! Todays post is brought to you by QKR Stampede!

I used a stamp called Bundled Up. Couldn't resist this cute little guy. I live in the Northern part of Minnesota and we have several occasions where we need to bundle up!

Scary to think that winter is just around the corner.

The Let it snow stamp is also from QKR.

I used a Taylored Expressions Sketch for my layout.

I distressed the background before stamping the image.

I paper pieced his jacket for a different look.

I added color with colored pencils.

Scarecrow Greetings

Hello! I am a new DT member and I have a cute card to share with you today using this scarecrow. You can also get him in digi form here.

I colored him with Copics and colored pencils/gamsol. I absolutely love fall and this little guy is just too cute. I even named him "Patches". Just seemed he needed a name.

Here is the inside view. The sentiment is created on the computer using Creating Keepsakes' Ali's Hand font. You can download it for free here.

A little about me...I am wife to Bruce (married 21 yrs) and mom to Benjamin 18 (freshman in college) and Aaron 15 (sophmore). We live on a farm and right now are in apple season as well as on the last alfalfa cutting.

I am a paraeducator at the high school. I have been stamping for 14 years. Hard to believe it's been that long. I love making papercrafts of all kinds and giving as gifts. I am blessed to be a part of this team and look forward to getting to know you.

I scheduled today's post a little later hoping that you had a chance to see yesterday's post about the new Design Team Members . . . another ensemble of very talented ladies from whom you are sure to be inspired. Each Design Team Member's blog is linked, so if you haven't yet done so, be sure to visit their blog, welcome them to the QKR Stampede family, and watch for their amazing projects! My project today uses the Leaf (#3901) stamp image. I created a marbled/polished stone background on glossy paper using the Ranger Alcohol Inks (Buttescotch, Meadow, and Red Pepper), then overstamped the Leaf in Rich Cocoa ink, varying the position of the leaf. The sentiment, which is a favorite of mine, was computer-generated.

Frosty The Snowman

My heart just melts over snowmen and this guy reminds me so much of Frosty melting away. I made a shaped card using my spellbinders Labels 8 and the stamp Melting Snowman. The inside has the sentiment Melt Your Heart, which says be careful a snowman can melt your heart. I added some crochet ribbon and a charm to finish it off
