Cześć Forgotten Historical Stories

[edytuj kod]

Hello. Thank you for interesting presentation from German Wikipedia. It's nice to see so many tennis-articles in language version, special for countries full of tradition in tennis (all three - Germany, Austria and Switzerland - with Nr. 1 players in mens tour!). I think, all work with tennis-promotorers is not easy. For us in Poland too, becouse of lack of professional sport during communism time; in fact, many sportpeople were "professionals", but official with jobs in state institution, so for the world they stay as "amateurs". Wojtek Fibak was one of pioneers of professionals sport in Poland at all.

I'm glad with your nice impressions about concert of our young artist. Five years - how quick! But full of breaks, too. Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 05:46, 12 lut 2009 (CET)[odpowiedz]

One more "the hottest tennis Wikipedian in the world" belongs to French Wikipedia -- his recent activities, many doubles champions. He's an ardent Nadal fan: personally satisfied too?? --Hhst (dyskusja) 07:18, 12 lut 2009 (CET)[odpowiedz]

Hello. Surly, Nadal's fan must be satisfied. Australian Open final, after Nadal's dramatic battle against Verdasco, is such dramatic sign for Federer! Currently, those two are untouchable for the rest of field, so if tired Nadal is still able to beat Federer even on hardcourt, he can feel as safe top player. About portal and "selfportrait": this old diff is ilustration of quite funny joke, I think (as my nick is only shortcut of that long word). I believe, I was present at IRC few years ago, when WarX started it. I rememeber also declaration of current president of Wikimedia Poland (Prof. Polimerek), that he is not able to correctly repeat my login. I find this joke sympathic, and for me it can stay at this site. In fact, "selfportrait" is site for opinions of collegues about collegues, without selfcomments. So, I shouldn't making any intervenions, but you can add whatever you want. Propably, authors of my "portrait" so far miss my tennis articles? Greetings Berasategui (dyskusja) 22:32, 13 lut 2009 (CET)[odpowiedz]

They won't see your greatness on tennis field, untouchable level of famous AM. (As I expected, she lost passion after her favorite Justine retired as No.1.) I was disappointed at the final night -- how I wished to see Pete Sampras' record moment! Tiger wanted to send a simple mail "14-14 tied with me"! --Hhst (dyskusja) 00:05, 14 lut 2009 (CET)[odpowiedz]

Hello and thanks for good infomations from other wikipedias. It's nice to have such complete, special for France in time of their big tournament so close. My tennis activity last times is not so big, but only in Wikipedia - it's spring, time for preparations of clay-courts and fun with racket. This weekend - Poland hosts Japan Fed-Cup team in Gdynia (very close to my brother residence - Gdańsk). Unfortunetely, no great Kimiko in Japan team this time (I think she was in provisional squade). But still should be interesting confrontation, both Radwańska sisters have problems with Asian players, on the other hand doubles pair Jans-Rosolska looks in good shape. Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 22:25, 20 kwi 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Fed Cup history, Poland and Japan met in 1974: the second meeting after 35 years, our ace Kazuko Sawamatsu! I think "No.2 players" have the key -- Marta Domachowska and Ayumi Morita. --Hhst (dyskusja) 01:05, 21 kwi 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Hello and thanks for following result of Kubot! He is now really in-form, after Belgrad final strong finish in Paris qualification tournament (final-set break festival, very nervous!) I think, it is even possible to play Nadal in opening round. Kubot's win means, that for the 4th year in a row polish tennis is represented in men singles Grand Slam - after Łukasz himself in US Open 2006, Michał Przysiężny (US Open 2007, then beat Kubot in final round of qualification in final set-tiebreak!) and Dawid Olejniczak (Wimbledon 2008). Maybe Kubot will be able to break top 100 at last.

I'm afraid, in German edition of Clerici book Chapter 24 is about German tennis! So the very same story as in Japanese translation. I'm suprise with this Laney's title error. Maybe Courting the Game is some popular title, used by journalists. Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 21:06, 22 maj 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

I confirmed his first opponent on the main draw, Viktor Troicki. By the way, I made some additions on David Ewen -- my older field than tennis. --Hhst (dyskusja) 23:36, 22 maj 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

I'm not suprised about your emotions today, I think one of dreams is done. Congratulations to Roger! About Norman, I'm impressed with his Grand Slam final very much. Such great success at 38! I read article in polish monthly magazine "Tenis" about Norman long, long time ago - I think, he won his first challenger doubles title in 1992 in Poznań, paired with slightly older Pole Tomasz Iwański. 17 years ago! Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 22:02, 7 cze 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Thanks for your oldest memory! Belgian tennis history in Wimbledon 1995, female pioneer Sabine Appelmans lost Kimiko Date at the first round. Filip Dewulf was a Belgian "dark horse" too. Now in 2009, both legends Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin gone! Norman watched them all. Favorite country of AM -- she had a mere fad. (All her recent editions are players' private love lives. What about her ambition now??) --Hhst (dyskusja) 01:22, 8 cze 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Hello. Thank you for remind! In fact, I'm not regular golf fan, so I missed new champions, but I'll try to add something in short time. Interesting, Roger reached very strong form with magic 15 titles, Tiger stay at 14? Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 22:33, 20 lip 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Tiger missed the cut this British Open, the 5th time in his professional life 14 years!! A sad week for me! "Way before Tiger Woods, way before Oprah Winfrey, way before Barack Obama, Michael did with music what they later did in sports and in politics and in television." --Hhst (dyskusja) 23:34, 20 lip 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Hi. I'm afraid, my activities in club are not only enjoyment (this season I registered in program Amateur Tennis of Poland), but also taking-time duties. But I try to be in touch with pl-Wiki. Normally, early morning before work I look for new biographical articles. On the other hand, you'are right, I should write something about tennis at last! Sofar US Open is very unlucky for polish fans, early loses for three ladies and also poor play by both Matkowski-Fyrstenberg and Kubot-Marach doubles. Last hope in mixed doubles. BTW, if I'm right, I should add also another major winner in golf, Asian player. Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 21:09, 7 wrz 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Training program as a Polish amateur tennis player?? Great!! I've almost lost interest in writing modern "Wikipedia Age" players, rather overestimated many cases (in comparison with historical players). Does Mirek (your closest friend and rival) remember Olsztyn Davis Cup? (my talkpage old log) --Hhst (dyskusja) 22:59, 7 wrz 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]
Yes, I think Mirek, as 20 something years young, was even linesman in this match, after special course. Berasategui (dyskusja) 23:12, 7 wrz 2009 (CEST)[odpowiedz]

Excuse my long absentia. I added Ryan White to "Noty biograficzne" today. I think, I saw him many years ago in polish tv, as part of Phil Donahue show. Greetings Berasategui (dyskusja) 10:37, 28 paź 2009 (CET)[odpowiedz]

Michael Jackson left a beautiful poem "Ryan White". He wrote: "I miss you, Ryan White. You showed us how to stand and fight. ... In the depths of your anguished sorrow, Was the dream of another tomorrow." --Hhst (dyskusja) 15:07, 28 paź 2009 (CET)[odpowiedz]

Hello. Surly, I think I should add Sturgess article, as well as many more... I hope to find enough time for it. I'm waiting also for new faces in Hall of Fame. Right now, I notice passing of one of less-known members, Alastair Martin. BTW, you propably notice some new-tennis author in pl-Wiki, MetjuLFC. My best greetings at Wikipedia Day, Berasategui (dyskusja) 20:21, 15 sty 2010 (CET)[odpowiedz]

I saw him for the first time: he specializes in men, loves two "mischievous guys" Roddick and Hewitt. (AM specialized in women.) Great news for me too, Łukasz entered Australian Open singles main draw!! --Hhst (dyskusja) 14:53, 16 sty 2010 (CET)[odpowiedz]

Hi. You're right, new name of category is propably better, because whole in polish (although I'm not very satisfied with that "Galeria Sław" - it's an idiom, hard to translate). Greetings, Berasategui (dyskusja) 22:19, 1 lut 2010 (CET)[odpowiedz]

Thank you. I'll start moving / fixing interlinks as soon as possible. --Hhst (dyskusja) 04:23, 2 lut 2010 (CET)[odpowiedz]
