Fancy Folds

Happy Saturday and welcome to a new OCC challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined in on the Fabulous Faces challenge last week, what a terrific response we had and we enjoyed viewing all of your creations. Stay tuned, the winner will be announced on Wednesday.

I’m Tui Nathan and I’m excited to be hosting here at OCC for the first time. I have chosen the “Fancy Folds” theme for this week.  There are so many different types of fancy folds out there, a lot of which I have seen, loved and even saved to do on a rainy day … but never gotten around to doing!  So now, I am not only challenging myself but also you too, to create a Fancy Fold card!

To help you out along the way, the Design Team will be providing a link or tutorial for the creation that they have made.

So without further ado, let's look at what our Guest Designer and Design Team came up with for your inspiration:

Guest Designer:  Susan Roberts

Totally Transparent Challenge WInner

It's Wednesday and time to award the Top Talent Award...Congratulations are in order for Gwenny for the beautiful card she entered into last week's transparency challenge.  We loved Gwenny's color combo and the way she positioned her main panel, leaving a thin frame of the transparency serving as a see-through window to the red panel below.  The white snowflakes stamped on the transparency are a creative reflection of the red ones on the main panel.

Wonderful work, Gwenny!  Please take our Top Talent Award button from the sidebar and display it with pride.

The current challenge (theme is Fabulous Faces) runs through midnight on Friday, October 28th.  We've already had nearly 50 entries...is yours on our site or are you still working?  You know you can work some magic with this theme!  We can't wait to see your creation.  All of us at the OCC really appreciate your enthusiasm and support of our challenges.

You can stamp, draw, paint, download them.... there are countless options! Whatever your style may be, I bet faces have played a part of your artwork at some point. We hope you’ll show us your style this week. Here’s what the design team and our wonderful guest designer have done:

Fall Color Challenge winner

It's that time again - time to crown our latest Top Talent! The entries for the Fall Color Challenge were just wonderful - we appreciate everyone that played along, even if you thought the combo was (ahem) unusual! LOL! Anyway, the winner this week is...

Chupa - Iwona Palamountain! The coloring and paper piecing on this card is simply stunning, and the simple design with the natural elements of grass and clouds just pops off the page. The addition of a little glitter and stitching made this card even more outstanding! We really loved your creation this week. Congratulations!

There is still time to get out some transparencies and play along with this week's challenge. Saturday will come around soon also with a brand new challenge for you! Thanks for all your support of our challenge and team!

Supply Challenge: Totally Transparent

Happy Saturday and welcome to a new OCC challenge! We really enjoyed looking at all the entries for last week’s fall color challenge. The winner will be announced on Wednesday. I’m Marjie Kemper and I’m thrilled to be hosting here at OCC for the first time. I chose “Totally Transparent” as my theme because transparencies are so versatile and they can easily be used in any kind of paper crafting. I like supply challenges because they spark my creativity and prompt me to use things that might’ve been a bit neglected.

Transparencies come in all sizes, from tiny tags to full 12X12 scrapbook overlays. They can be written on, stamped, inked, painted, misted… the sky’s the limit. You can also use your clear packaging material… recycling is always a good thing! I decided to make a scrapbook layout and used a pre-made round journaling transparency on it. It’s visually appealing to put some things behind and some above your transparency, and by putting things above you can hide your adhesive (there are staples behind the blue flower on mine) below. Let's look at what our guest designer and design team came up with this week:

Guest Designer - Shannon Finch

Marjie Kemper - She Who Stamps and Scraps

Vicki Burdick~~It's A Stamp Thing

Lori Rider - The Diva Stamper

Jennifer Rzasa - Our Change of Art

Tui Nathan - Stampin Time

Linda Coughlin - The Funkie Junkie

Anne Marie Hile - Stampin' Anne
Kristin Tierney - LilyBeth Boutique

Holly Kean - Kean on Paper

We can’t wait to see what you will do this week… let your imagination run free!

World Card Making Day Challenge Winner!

Thanks to everyone who celebrated WCMD with us by making an internationally inspired creation. It was great to see the countries that all of you chose. Without further ado, the Top Talent for this challenge is...

Loretta Lock! Loretta is a former OCC team member and we loved her card for this challenge. She took her inspiration from the flag of Greece. The embossed background and bling really make this card stand out, along with that gorgeous sentiment and DP and ribbon. What a fabulous creation, Loretta! We hope you will display our winner's badge with pride!

You still have time to create a project for our current color challenge that runs until Friday. We are loving your submissions so far! Then be sure to come back on Saturday for a new challenge!

It was fun to see what countries you all came up with for your beautiful creations! On to this week's challenge... I'm your hostess, Lori Rider, and this week I have a color challenge for you. I thought of these as slightly out-of-the-box fall colors, and you can make a fall card if you wish, but whatever these colors inspire you to create is great this week - no other special requirements this time around. Without further ado, the colors are...

These are Stampin' Up! colors but feel free to use whatever you have that's close. Let's check out what our fabulous guest designer and design team came up with this week:
