Not to be confused with Nangi.

Nanagi is a young girl living in Hakkuro Village and Hakugan's younger sister.[1]

Appearance[]

Nanagi is a short, young girl with brown hair kept in two ponytails. She has large, round eyes, and wears a short shirt that exposes her midriff and a skirt.[1]

According to Trafalgar Law, she looks very similar to his own sister, Trafalgar Lami.

Personality[]

Nanagi is a brave child, immediately running and grabbing knives when she saw men she did not recognize in her house.

Relationships[]

Hakugan[]

Hakugan is Nanagi's older brother, and the two care deeply about each other. When Hakugan returned to Hakkuro Village after being kidnapped, he worried intensely for his sister, scared that she had been ostracized for being related to him. She is very defensive of him, and is even willing to take on four adult men if she believes they are threatening him.

Heart Pirates[]

After hosting them for three days, Nanagi became friends with Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin, giving them the nicknames "Bepocchi" (べポっち, Bepotchi?), "Shacchan" (シャっちゃん, Sha-tchan?), and "Pen-chan" (ペンちゃん, Pen-chan?) respectively. However, she remains distant from Trafalgar Law, who intentionally avoided become friendly with her during his stay.[1]

History[]

Past[]

When Hakugan was kidnapped by the Kalik Pirates, Nanagi was extremely worried, and began to stay cooped up inside. Eventually, the chief of Hakkuro Village asked her to go shopping with other villagers in a neighboring village in an attempt to get her outside.

One Piece novel Law: The Hour of Kikoku[]

When Nanagi returned to Hakkuro Village, she learned that Hakugan had returned safely, and rushed back home. She burst into the house, excited to see him, but quickly noticed the Heart Pirates also there. Concluding that they were threatening Hakugan, she ran to the kitchen and grabbed two knives and a pot to defend herself, threatening that she wouldn't forgive them if they harmed her brother.

While the Heart Pirates frantically tried to convince her they were nice, Trafalgar Law stayed frozen before finally telling his crewmates to stop talking. He told Nanagi that she was right to be suspicious since they were pirates, and jokingly claimed they would use the spare room until they eventually took over the house, prompting Nanagi to ask Hakugan why they were inside. Hakugan assured that it was fine, and after calming her down a bit, explained what had happened. She finally decided that they might be alright, even if they are pirates, since bad people would have stolen everything valuable and run away already.

Despite that, she was unwilling to fully trust them, so Law offered a deal: they would stay for three days, and if they did anything suspicious or caused any trouble, they would leave immediately. She agreed, and over the course of the three days, she became friends with Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin, ultimately allowing them to stay past the initial agreement.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Nanagi (ナナギ?) can mean "seven treasures" or "seven wonders".
