History[]

One Piece: Treasure Wars[]

Driven by the legend that his grandfather once hid the five so-called Life Jewels on the islands of the archipelago, and incited by his subordinate Cal, Cello organized the Treasure Wars on Cream Mist. The aim was for him to get his hands on the five Life Gems. He offered to reward the participant who gathered all five Life Gems from the archipelago's islands with Beli100,000,000 and an Eternal Pose to the island of their choice.[1] This attracted all kinds of people to the island. These included pirates, members of Baroque Works and other criminals, as well as the Marines. It was not entirely by chance that the Straw Hat Pirates also ended up on Cream Mist. The Lytton Food Thieves and their feared captain Lytton were also there, but they had no intention of obtaining the Life Gems fairly, or handing them over to Cello. His subordinate Helsing, a famous swordswoman, was the first to reveal herself to the king, but was still allowed to take part in the game. When Cello's subordinate Cal revealed himself to be a member of Lytton's crew and mentioned his name, Cello became nervous and began to stutter. After one of the Straw Hat Pirates managed to get his hands on all four Life Gems, the Lytton Food Thieves tied up the king. After Lytton's defeat, Cello was freed by the winner, while Lytton and Cal were captured by the Marines led by Smoker. The Straw Hats were then given the Eternal Port and the promised prize money, and they left the archipelago on the Going Merry. Cello was happy and had the Life Gems in his possession.
