Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is a 2017 remake of the 1989 game Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, released on Nintendo Switch on April 18, 2017.
Gameplay[]
In the game, players control an adventurer who has been cursed and turned into a lizard man. In order to regain human form, the player must travel through the land defeating dragons. As the player travels through the land, they gain the ability to transform into different animal forms that each have their own unique characteristics and powers. In lizard form, the player can shoot fire, while in mouse form they can climb over marked blocks, piranha form allows them to swim underwater, and hawk form allows them to fly.
New features in the remake include updated graphics and music (which can be toggled between retro and modern), varied difficulty settings, the choice to play as a female and hidden bonus areas.

The remake's release received positive reviews. It currently sits at 78% on Metacritic indicating generally favorable reviews from critics.
