The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (JP) is the Game Boy Color remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Game Boy. The game was remade with new colorful graphics compared to the originals black and white graphics, Game Boy Printer compatibility, and a new dungeon. The game could be played on the original Game Boy, with grayscale graphics identical to those of the original game.

The Color Dungeon, accessible only on the Game Boy Color, was the main and largest change from the original Link's Awakening. The Color Dungeon was an extra dungeon playable by using a code from the library to move certain tombstones in the cemetery to open the new area. This new area introduced 3 new mini bosses, many new enemies, many new puzzles, and a new boss, the Giant Hardhat Beetle. At the end of the dungeon instead of adding a new item to the inventory Link is instead given the choice between a blue tunic that reduces damage to half the normal amount and the red tunic that allows Link to do double damage to enemies.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX uses sprites that are colorized versions of the ones in the original game. Another addition is the inclusion of collectible photographs which could be printed wiht the Game Boy Printer.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX was rereleased on the Nintendo 3DS's Virtual Console service alongside Super Mario Land. It was available as a reward for Gold Club Nintendo members in 2013.
