Colours[]

Don't know if you have this somewhere or it's needed, but according to issue 39 of ONM there are 15 different colours of Yoshi. They only mention 8 which you have, so what can be the missing 4?--Sgtcook 20:55, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

That's a good question. I'll do some research and report back in a couple minutes.   Bentendo  Talk
Alright, I'm back. I can confirm that there are only 11 different colored Yoshis. I don't have the slightest clue why they thought there were fifteen, but according to multiple sources (reliable ones!) there are only eleven. If anything it was probably a typo.   Bentendo  Talk

Yoshi and Yoshi species[]

I feel like the character Yoshi and the species of Yoshis should be separate from each other. It's like clumping the character Toad together with the species Toad, it doesn't feel right. - BattleFranky202 06:16, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

I guess I do see your point. I'm willing to eventually do it, but it'll be a challenge because it's hard to tell if the Yoshi in question is "the" Yoshi or just another member of the species. For example, in the Yoshi character page, would we mention the species' appearance in Super Mario Sunshine even though the only Yoshis that appeared were pink, orange and purple (excluding the Yoshis in the artwork, which was presumably made when green Yoshies WERE planned to appear in the game). I'll think of something, though it'll involve a lot of planning (thankfully I like the character/species so it won't be too big of an issue). --BentendoSmallLogo.png Talk 18:30, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I'm in the process of separating them. A quick note though, for anyone who finds this all confusing:

  • Yoshi (character) refers to multiple different characters, and not just one. For example, the Yoshi in SMW2 is different from the Yoshi in say, Super Mario Galaxy. It's very confusing!
  • The Yoshi species page will mainly be about the different colors of Yoshi, but it can be expanded if anyone wants to. --BentendoSmallLogo.png Talk 20:11, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
